X Factor producers have announced that Cheryl Cole will pre-record her performance on the show this weekend.
The Girls Aloud star will be seen singing her debut solo single 'Fight For This Love' (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a181809/cheryl-cole-fight-for-this-love.html) on Sunday's results episode.
A show spokeswoman told the Daily Star: "Cheryl will be recording her music performance earlier in the day with a live studio audience to ensure she can fully continue with her judging commitments on The X Factor later that evening."
Cole sang 'The Promise' (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a132708/girls-aloud-the-promise.html) with her Girls Aloud bandmates on the ITV1 talent programme last year. However, in August it was rumoured (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/xfactor/a173881/cole-may-cancel-x-factor-performance.html) that she wanted to scrap her planned solo spot because she was too nervous about going it alone.
Sunday's episode will see the 26-year-old sharing the performance bill with superstar Whitney Houston (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/xfactor/a181081/whitney-confirms-x-factor-performance.html).

She looked terrified when Dermot announced it last week.

This is the lowest sort of performance you can do IMO, they might as well show the music video

Nah, at least mimers perform live if they dont sing live
I bet she records it about 3 times and they pick the best one

If she's scared then you can't blame her really, I'd have preferred a live version but as long as she doesn't mime then a pre-recorded performance is fine.

It must be pretty nerve wrecking to be doing it alone, first live solo performance and your being watched by millions, and millions are expecting you to be amazing. Also, as judge she has a reputation she must uphold. I don't mind it being pre-recorded, just as long as she doesn't lip sync.

Totally agree, she's not miming, and despite this being her first solo performance, and her not being the most vocally talented person in the world, I wish her luck with her performance.

She's gonna have to perform live sooner or later if she wants to make it big

Sure Alexandra mimed so why can't Cheryl?

Not many acts do perform live, especially pop acts. Most GMTV and This Morning performances are pre recorded. Jules Holland, Jonathon Ross and all other interview shows are pre-recorded also. I do agree she'll sing live eventually but maybe she wants her first fully live performance in front of a less intimidating and vast audience?

I love Cheryl but anyone who thinks she's going to sing live is dillusional. Most artists use playback (which Britney actually used and Alexandra did) now, which is a pre-recorded version of the song made to sound like its live.
I know Cheryl sings live with Girls Aloud sometimes but this is a song where she's going to need to dance and she's a street dancer.

PMSL I sat for at least a minute trying to figure out why you swore and what you said, and then I twigged that you were referring to a person! :laugh2:

Just realised her initials are BS!!!
And Alexandra didn't mime?!

She re sang the song and then mimed to that as rumours go. There are certainly bits where she mimed, but some bits I think are live. Amazing how she is breathless at the end but can sing perfectly still.

and also bits where she couldnt keep up so missed words out. the studio version was on in the background, you could hear it at points when she stopped singing live

Take That did a pre-recorded thing last year and no-one even noticed the difference!

Having a backing track while your still singing is okay I think ;}

Too much money involved with a new single to go risking it all on a live performance, unless of course you're Robbie Williams - have to give him credit for just going out and giving it socks.

She also has her credibility as a judge at stake ... if shes **** people will think how on earth does she have the right to judge most of them? Plus shes on on Whitney night which will make her look even worse
Ah well.
Don't really care what she does... people will complain whatever she does on Sunday...

That's if Whitney's voice is still intact! Going to be interesting to see what type of condition it's in at this stage.
I think Cheryl will show off her dancing more than her singing during the performance, no matter what people say about her voice, she is a fantastic street dancer!

She is the worst one. Look at the Girls Aloud proformace last year, She was the worst one of them lot.
