Kate To Win!!

Ever since Spanky was evicted I have made it known that I would like Kate to win, and although a few people have agreed with me on the thread entitled 'Is Kate Jinxed?' I thought I would start another topic with the title 'Kate To Win!', to see just what the general feeling is about this. I do have a feeling that the majority on this site are still rooting for Alex, but inlight of 'Bully-Gate' I wondered if anyone had changed their mind. I feel the same way Oldgit does and that is that the British public ie the voters... do tend to go for the guys over the girls but I do think in this case Kate really does deserve the chance to win Big Brother this year.
She is genuine, kind and tolerent, and just gets on with whatever she is faced with especially when just recently she was left to face yet another grim week on the Poor side, and with the added burden of being disliked intensely by Alex, purely because she chose Spanky over him after initially saying out of all the guys she would chose him to 'get naked' with.... in one of the early games. Alex has never forgiven her for what he sees as a direct rejection, and then to make matters worse took on board Sandy's misguided opinion that Kate was some kind of manipulator. For these reasons he has held it against her ever since and has made her pay for it big time...IMHO Alex has been totally unfair to Kate, she did nothing wrong or to warrant such animosity...it has all been so unecessary...poor Kate!
Kate is fair, understanding, very funny, entertaining, fun loving, daring, brave, and stands up for what she believes in. She has shown nothing but compassion and friendship towards Sophie despite risking a backlash from Jade and her cronies, and has handled every situation thrown at her with grace, enthusiasm and determination. I like the way she respects people and even though very keen on Spencer never over did it to make the their friendship go any further than was comfortable for both of them. I have not seen her bitching about anyone, if she has a grievence she speaks out about it but always with the right attitude, and very often with humour! She has suffered with hayfever for a few days now, and it is also her time of the month. She understanably broke down in tears in the Diary room that day, when she broke her sunnies, with the thought of running out of toothpaste, missing Spencer, and struggling to get through yet another tough week on the Poor side, but she still managed to keep it in once out of the Diary room and never bothered any of the housemates with her woes..apart from in a normal conversation. For all these reasons she really has impressed me alot.
I have not heard her winge in a bad way once, she has her little moans but it is always justified. She just seems to collect herself together, puts a smile on her face and then just gets on with it...good for her!
All in all Kate has shown she is more than a worthy winner. Anyone else agree?

Yes I think kate would be a deserving winner. Adele could be Alex's downfall making him a gossip lover. Jonny might have left off his clowning for a tad too long and lost support. So Yeh I think Kate is a contender to finish last.:spin2:

Kate does seem quite nice, but there's nothing about her that stands out, there is no spark. I do quite like her now, but I don't find her particularly interesting. It would be nice if a woman won it this year, and she is definitely the best female left in the house, but I don't think she is enough of a 'character' to win.

I see your point Lee but this week for me I have found the Alex sparkle to be fading fast and Jonny is unpredictable. The happy clown or the sad clown. Who knows from one week to another.

I think if the divide comes down and there are fewer in numbers that Kate's'playfull personality may break through more....:spin2:

I've been pleasantly surprised by Kate's attitude over the last 2 weeks.

She's had it tough with Spencer going and Alison going and being stuck in the poor side for a week longer than she should have been, so I can understand the tears when she broke her sunglasses.

I'm glad Tim was there to give her a shoulder to cry on, I'm sure she appreciated it.

She has been very calm under pressure and hasn't bitched about other housemates. I think this stands her in good stead for future weeks, and I'm so glad that the bars are coming down, she may get the chance to really shine now!

I have said in the past that I want Alex to win, and I stand by that, but his continual bitching with Adele and Jade are making him suffer in my eyes, he would do well to get away from those two. If not, then I think my loyalties may very well go with Kate.

Kate is the most genuinely likeable person in the house and everyones preconceptions now seem to be misfounded about her. I would really love it if she could win but think that we will have another male BB winner.

I don't think so Sticks. Women aren't as shallow as you think. A lot of women including me admire her for the way she's dealt with the bullies in the house and the way she has survived losing two of the people she was closest too. She'll definately get my vote!:elephant:

The Green Eyed Monster is very powerful amongst the fair gender.

Unfair, as Kate is 3rd favourite, but that is how life is :bawling:

As for votes, I am still under contract as Cyber Devil's Advocate to Jade, though I am informed that tenure may be coming to an end. :colour: :dance:

Unfortunately I am afraid you may be right about the "Green Eyed Monster!" Envy is such a powerful emotion and seems to rear it's ugly head at every turn.
I fear the friendship with Spencer, the rejection of Alex and the fact that Kate is just too pretty, and an all round nice person, but above all 'a GIRL' are all factors in her missing out and why she will almost certainly not win Big Brother...we all seem to be in agreement here, but I am still holding out for her though because above all she so deserves to win. Of course Alex is still favourite to win, so there is that too.
I am just hoping she will not have the bad luck to be up for eviction against Alex or Jonny until the last week at least then she will have more of a chance of making the last three.

I totally agree. I've found mself 'warming' to Kate recently. Liked the way she was there for Sophie in her hour of need these past few days.

I agree that Kate has become more likeable over the last couple of weeks, but the general public (not us BB fans!!) are slower at picking up on it, judging by a conversation I had at work yesterday.

I've always liked Kate Honey, and I agree, I would love her to win (though I don't think she will, unfortunately.) Everything you said was spot on (you are scarily good at analysing people!)

Anyway, i have a horrible feelinfg it will be her and Jonny up on Tuesday, but she'd definately get my vote (although I do love Jonny)
I think she's funny - especially the bits at the barbecue when she was doing that ridiculous accent the other night - certainly makes me smile.

Kate's a great girl, gutsy, kind and funny. I really hope she will be one of the final three and I would like to think that she COULD win BB.

You've got me worried now though, Glitter_Babe, at the thought of her and Jonny being up for nomination together on Tuesday as I would HATE to have to choose between those two this early.

I would not have a problem with Kate winning. Jonny is my favourite, but I see the bond between those two as being much deeper than Kate's attraction to Spencer or Jonny's larking about with Alison.

So if either of those two win I will be delighted.

I am starting to think the tide is turning in Kate's favour, and it is about time a woman won Big Brother (not as a token, but on merit).

Kate is showing herself to be a good example of how you can be nice in a competitive situation, be caring and mean it (she gave a lot of support to Sophie and Jonny), and be both gentle and tough enough to hold your own with the men.

Yes a lot of girls may have envied her, but now I can see how a lot of them now want to be her, a more positive response.

I think she now has a really good chance.

For the moment I am still under contract to be Jade's Cyber Devil's Advocate until she leaves, so I am unable to comment on who I want to win.

We have already conceded elsewhere that our client will not win BB3, so I have my private thoughts as to who I would like to win. Until my contract expires I will have to keep them under wraps

Adele is already in Kate's mind abit. Earlier on, Jonny asked PJ and Kate who they trusted and Kate said Jonny, PJ and Adele. Jonny said her and PJ and hinted that Adele may not be a good one to trust. Lets hope she listens to Jonny!

I think Kate's ok as well, she doesn't moan much and she's got talent, but doesn't show it much, for being branded playing up to the cameras. Maybe if she stay's in long enough with Jonny we may see more of a double act. I hope so :dance:

I love the double act. I think it has emerged because Kate wanted the "old" Jonny back, and really provoked him into being funny again. People thought Kate was a bitch because she was not first out of the chair when Sophie came in, but I would not have pushed my way to the front either, I'm just not like that. She may have held back at first, but she was a friend in need, when it would have been easier to leave her to being bullied.

You see characters develop in the house. Jonny the clown has shown his feelings and hurt. Adele the smiling face has shown a two-faced side that no-one expected. Sophie, at first the most boring woman on earth, showed that, when she is with the right people, she is lively, vivacious and up for a laugh. PJ, the chauvinist, the lad, has compensated by showing some really good qualities and loyalty to his best friends. Alex has gone through more changes than anyone, but all of them are completely anal!

But above all, Kate has gradually, in stages, shown she is more than a pretty face. She is a loyal friend, she is a bit of a tomboy, she is bubbly and fun, but above all she has been a friend in need for Jonny and Sophie, and I think has to take credit for Jonny's return to form.

I'm a really torn between Jonny and Kate as winners.

Theres no doubt about it - the final 3 is gonna be between Alex, Kate and Jonny - unless some of them are put up for eviction together!:shocked:

I think Kate is really funny and not a lot of it is shown on the C4 shows but I dont think there is anything really WOW about her that would make her the overall winner - maybe Im wrong but I would love to see one of the 2 boys win it. Altho it would be good to see a gal win Big Brother!:laugh:
