Cheryl Cole: "I Will Be Singing Live"

Cheryl Cole has reportedly rubbished claims that she is planning to mime on The X Factor this weekend.

The judge, who is scheduled to perform her debut solo single 'Fight For This Love' on Sunday night, confirmed that she will pre-record her performance with a live vocal earlier in the day.

"I really don't see the problem. I will be singing live," The Evening Standard quotes her as saying.

"I just won't have time to get changed and get prepared for the performance, and be a judge on the show. It would be too hectic."

Cole, who performed 'The Promise' with Girls Aloud last year on the show, admitted that she feels "absolutely terrified" about singing by herself.

"I love performing but I've sat for weeks judging people and now I'm putting myself out there to be judged," she said.

Whitney Houston is also confirmed to perform on Sunday's live show, which is broadcast on ITV1 from 7.45pm.

Well not really. I like cheryl. Just its crap that she cant even be bothered to perform her new single live. Only reason I can think of is that she cant sing.

Outfit changes and that are a bad excuse...as the show is different this year, and surely she could quickly get changed after performing. Or leave her outfit on to judge.

I think this is because of the bad reaction to Girls Aloud's performance last year. The irony is if they didn't tell us we wouldn't have even known so they could have kept the pretence up.

It would only come out online I reckon and noone would really care, a bit like when Take That gave a pre recorded performance last year. I'd say 95% of the audience would be unaware. Its a bit like the opening to the results show with Dermot and the contestants, thats never live but we're lead to believe it is.

Plus theres also the other question, if its an issue of her not having enough time to get changed then why don't they do a delayed transmission and start filming at 7pm, do the first half hour with Cheryl's performance and stop at half 7. Broadcast the first half hour at 7.45pm then go live at 8.15pm?

It's more to do with her nerves, it's her first live performance alone in years and it's in front of the second biggest TV audience of a show this year. If she started with a smaller audience and worked her way up she might not have been so intimidated. Plus she's advertising her single so she can't pull off a bad performance.

Last year there wasn't another guest and a group performance though so it's argubly more rushed preparation wise. If it was any other artist they wouldn't get any flack over it. She's singing, not miming. The only thing is that the performance will be pre-recorded. It's something that a lot of artists do and I'll be sure to point some out to some of the people in this thread next time their favourite performers lip sync or pre-record their performances because it's all contradictory really.

My favourite artists do mime and such.

However they do not judge others singing for a job.

They just sing/mime/perform, whatever you want to call it.

If you are going to judge others, I think its pretty crap to do the same thing as what she is doing, to be honest, when the contestats sing live every week.

Again, the contestants sang live in front of a large audience, most of them alone, and she is already used to performing. Its her job.

Im not trying to pick faults. I have no problem at all with Cheryl. Strangely, my lad used to drink with her before girls aloud. My mimi claim to fame :laugh:

But it is very hypocritical for her to do this and then go on to criticise other people who do not have as much experience as her, doing something she didnt dare do herself. thats all.

Whitney bores me to death and unless she sings "I will always love you" I dont think the young veiwers will give a **** about her or know who she is..

Cheryl could easily have more fans just coming from the people that watch the show.. Obviously Whitney is far more liked but just because Young People then more of us will care about Cheryl..
