I think thats fair enough. Muslim women should be allowed to wear the Hijab, but this goes too far. Again, if people are allowed to wear a Burka, she could send a genious with a Burka to take exams for her. NO one would know, so really, its logical. There is always online to get diplomas these days. Even in the US. SO if she wants, she could do that.
And in most Muslim traditions, only the Hijab is required, which covers everything, but your face is completely visible.

And OP, you show your ignorance as usual, because most women in Saudi Arabia, dress like this:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nDr3jFfZVec/R8veiqVMirI/AAAAAAAAAWM/D8mVK7O7rio/s400/Hijab+15.JPG
SO your last statement, is just that: Ignorant.

Not really in this case. How can you tell, its her taking the exam? Does she not have to get her photo ID taken?
And once again, its not a requirement to cover your face in Islam, so she cant use the religious argument, only her tradition.
HEre's a pic, of women during Hajj, in Mecca, which is the holiest place in Islam:

As you can see, women dont cover their face, and that goes for you too Arista, you can stick to your ignorant statements, but it just gives you less and less credibility.

Think of it this way,
If we went to school in our Uniform, but we wanted to wear Jeans,
Thats tough!
We arent allowed and if we did we would be throwen out of the school!
So why should it be diffrent with this bitch?
Serves her right for thinking she can do what she wants

Yup. What's to stop her hiding someone else in there at exam time?

I can see why the college refused her, you can't wear hoodies or any clothes that obscure the face in most public places so regardless of religion they couldn't allow it because it would have been hypocritical.

'We'
You mean 'You.'
Nothing to say about this Topic Dezzy?
nope. we. :)
as for the topic - people are talking about the denial of civil rights and liberties that the Islam faith [or rather, some interpretations of it] imposes upon women (by choosing to wear this); but is the banning from the college not a greater abuse of civil rights?
Why cant she just wear the one where you can still see their face

Yeah but, 1) Its not required by her religion, and 2) there is the logistic aspect of it: No one would know if its really her under that. And she has to take exams, and even to enter the buidling, you cant identify her. You have to be able to identify someone in a place like that. Even in Saudi Arabia unis, women, now, have to show their faces.

It's just a question of common sense really with regard to this girl, but what I find very interesting is how Arista will seize upon every opportunity available to him to further his cause in condemning other races or ethnic groups.

I agree - this is England, not Saudi.
We have our rules - and everyone should abide by them.
If we went to Saudi or other Muslim countries - we would be expected to abide by their rules. Can't abide double standards!
I don't see why she can't just take it off, if she is so offended by it then fine... don't have an education. Its simple if you want an education or any respect in this country do not cover up your face, 90% of communication is non vocal... no wonder it freaks people out if you cannot see their face.
Also this girl is so wrong bringing her religion into it, the Qur'an never mentions the use of a full body Burkha. As other muslims have told me.

If she had not been brain washed from birth that she should wear such idiotic wear she wouln't be wanting to.....
Its an example of the evil damage that half baked religious teachings can do.....Groomed from child hood into the insane beliefs of elders.
I suppose if the religion said she should walk on her hands to school while chewing on a bone and it had been drummed into her from birth she would do that also......

so you think people should be allowed to wear whatever they like?

Well said.
If there are rules, stick to them.
And her religion doesnt even 'require' her to wear that anyway. Its what she 'wants' to wear. So I want to go to college in my underwear...am I allowed? No...
Im sure the college would have had no problem with her wearing one that showed her face, but obviously the one in the main picture cant be allowed...I mean seriously...she could easily send anyone else in to sit her exams for her or go to lessons for her etc.
