Beating Children, hitting a child or simply slapping them

I just want to know what is people's thoughts on this method on your own children.

Also i do not mean beating the crap out of them to death.

Or hitting them really hard at below age 15.

Just a slap or if they are really rude maybe stronger slap or hard pinch:O

i used to get me dads belt across the arse or me mams slipper across the back of the legs, never did me any harm, and taught me right from wrong.

I used to get smacked all the time, did me no harm!

Depends on the person though, i was naughty as a child so i deserved it.

And if you did that to an adult you would be convicted of at least common assault, possibly battery.

So why do children who are more likely to be injured by such action get less protection in law?

Plus all you ever teach is that physical violence is the way to solve problems

The thing is though, its not really Physical Violence. People can do what they want to thier child (even though it really bothers me what some people do) and they can punish them how they like. If i were to smack a child I would never do it too hard. I think its the same with most people.

Child wont understand when you explain to them not to do somthing.. or they will want to do it again, if you give them a little slap they will know not to do it again.

Its completely different for children and adults.
