The X Factor cemented its reputation as one of UK TV's biggest hits, surging to a record audience of nearly 14 million for the results programme on ITV1 last night, Sunday 1 November.
Last night's one-hour programme on ITV1 had 13.9 million viewers for the 8pm hour, a 48% share, according to unofficial overnight figures.
The audience peaked at 14.7 million in the final quarter hour to see contestant Rachel Adedeji eliminated by public vote after she found herself singing for survival against Lloyd Daniels.
