she looks llke a pig.:flower:
oink oink
no need to be rude Mark. We all have the right to comment on Jade's weight without someone trying to be smart. Jade is fat. Get over it.
PS. She looks like a pig
I'm not particularly a Jade fan, but I still hate all the stuff about comparing her to a pig, going on about her looks etc.
I think its horrid and offensive and far ruder than Mark's comment of above.
Of course everyone has a right to express their opinion, but there are ways of doing it.
I think she looks ok and she seems happy and weight should never be an issue :nono:
I agree with LEE on this, why does everyone have to be so nasty, life's too short!! :xyxwave:

Purplequeen and Zan, are you saying that all women of 12 stone are fat and look like pigs, or just Jade in particular?
http://www.plauder-smilies.com/sad/confusedbig.gif
My opinion of Jade is not just based on her over 12 stone frame but on her personality and two-faced nature too. Her pig-like squeally voice and her pig-like face resemble a pig in my opinion. Of course we are not saying that all women of 12 stone are pigs, that's stupid. Just Jade. And, my dear, we, along with the majority of Britian and Ireland, are right.
I don't know how you can call anyone a pig when you don't know them, how would you react if I called you that?
Ok you may not like her, but say " I don't like Jade", don't resort to calling her a pig. She may open her mouth, but thats Jade, if you don't like her say "I DON'T LIKE HER", don't resort to name calling it's not nice. :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:
Well said Amy.
This has always been a good natured forum. This doesn't mean we all have to agree, or that we all have to like everybody, but it does mean that vicious, nasty posts are not encouraged, whether they are against other forum members or housemates.
Hello Amy...
I agree with most of what you said.
All i'm saying is that Jade looks like a pig. You can't say that about me because I am not on TELEVISION, but she is! I don't mean to be mean because I actually feel for jade but I just think that she looks like a pig, that's all. I'm just having a laugh. I'm not really serious because I know that if someone said something bad about me, I'd be hurt.
Tongue in cheek Amy!
Thats fair enough than Zan

I hope jade isn't computer literate and reads the comments made about her.
I am actually refering to another forum in which an entire thread was mostly devoted to her appearance.
One spine chilling comment was about when Jade was hyperventalating while crying and a posting was made to the effect that it would make good TV if she died in the BB house.
Thank goodness this forum avoids such really quite evil postings.
I read that one as well banarama and it was horrid.
One thing that Mark, Kaz and myself have always tried to do here is to stop TiBB getting nasty in this way. We can still have a laugh and a joke, and disagree about things without resorting to that sort of rubbish.
Please help us keep TiBB a friendly place to post.

I agree that Jade's face and voice are pig-like, but I don't think that her weight comes into it. I didn't like it when on BBLB, there was a fashion consultant who referred to her as a "larger lady" - how rude!! Yeah she could lose a bit of weight, but she's hardly larger than the average woman in the UK population is she?????

I agree completely Lee.
Since this forum started up we have had a really great time posting here. I have made some great friends, and we have always respected each others views.
We have been a little personal about some of the housemates in the past, but I hope never offensive. It's all been in jest, and I don't think they would have been too upset. (OK,so I may have been a little too personal about Elizabeth)
Outright insults about a person's appearance surely aren't necessary though are they?
Let's keep it civilised shall we?

The reason the regular posters on this site STAY on this site, is because all offensive postings are deleted. You are blowing very close to the wind with your comments on Jades appearence.
She may not have model's looks or figure, but to say she is like a pig is an insult.
I am sure she would be very hurt at your comments and a lot of young people have been affected by such comments and become anorexic.
I suggest you choose your words carefully when commenting on someone's weight.
Please be kind.

I think we should not base our opinions on what people look like, but on their character.
It is as bad to judge Jade badly purely because of her weight and features as it is to judge Alex because he is allegedly good looking.
That is why I get nasty about Alex sometimes... it is because if a large number of girls did not vote to keep him in because of his looks, or excuse some of his behaviour over the first two weeks for that reason, he would not be there now.
Big Brother should be about personalities interacting, it is not a beauty contest.
BTW, I liked Spencer when he was in because of irreverent and laconic humour. If he hadn't been in the house the girls who say he is gorgeous could have walked right past him in the street and not even noticed him. So even though I was a fan I still find it offensive when people voted to keep him in merely because they find him attractive!

I agree with what you are saying, Oldgit, but why be 'nasty' at all?
As other people have already said, there are WAYS of saying things. The reason I left 'the other site' was because it became 'nasty' and, I seem to remember, when you joined TiBB, that was exactly the same reason you gave for not wanting to post there any longer.
This has always been a lovely, friendly, family site. If it goes the way of 'the other site' then I won't be posting here any longer.

Wow. If you don't like Jade, you don't like her, that's fine. But to devote a thread to her being overweight - for gods sake! As someone who really is "tipping 12 stone" (and I don't think Jade is) I can't stand to hear people (particularly the media) constantly go on about how people 'should be' this size, and you are just giving weight to this (pun really not intended there).
It partly annoys me for selfish resons, as I am a little larger than Jade, and it makes me feel really small to read this sort of thing about her, but most of all, it annoys me because , regardless of her and how she is, you are belittling her because she doesn't fit in with your 'ideal'.
I realise this is meant in fun, though your definition of fun obviously differs hugely from mine, but can you give it a rest? Enough is enough, and it's just cruel - maybe I see things through rose tinted spectacles, but I would like to think you can maintain a certain level of decency, and be kinder with your comments.
Well said Glitterbabe

Did I really say that? I'll have to check, but I think it was because it took about 20 minutes on average for each page to come up and I kept getting disconnected when trying to post because the site was so slow.
Even though I liked H&P in BB2, I actually used to find some of the abuse that mm and others put in quite amusing.
Anyway, I have been more at peace with the world lately.
I do get wound up by people who get on in any walk of life because of their looks when there is no other discernable reason, and I do get emotional about it. Sorry, that's just how I am.
As you will all know, though, I am very nice most of the time!!!

Sorry Oldgit, but even though I know mm was joking a lot of the time, I always found their posts very offensive and not funny in the slightest, and I know I was not on my own in this.

jade is insulting about others' looks, including the gorgeous kate and sophie, so why give a ****? she needs to realise she must stop bitching. she's a nasty, nasty person when she does it and noone will trust her if she carries on. i started to like jade, but now i can't stand her. she thinks she's so amazing and gorgeous when she clearly isn't that great (may it be noted that i actually think jade can be pretty, and she has gorgeous hair)

Negative comments about Jade's appearance are unfortunate, I think.
However, it's like the comment that was made about PJ and his looks. If Jade came across as a nice person, the issue of her looks would not be raised, or if it was, it would be in a sympathetic manner.

I'm sorry Oldgit - I find it difficult to reconcile 'abuse' and 'amusing'. As someone has already said - why are we devoting an entire thread to someone's weight. I find it pathetic and offensive.
Both I and my family post on this site because, whilst we may have differing opinions and are positively encouraged to express them, they are done in a constructive manner with an acknowledgement of 'each to his/her own'.
I would hope that we don't need to stoop to the level of the worst type of tabloid journalist, by appealing to the lowest common denominator - personal abuse.
Let's keep it friendly.

That's not what I said Mo.
I have no problem with people disagreeing, I do have a problem with people using foul language and being nasty, this has always been a good natured forum and recently we have had several complaints from our longerstanding members, not because they disagree with what people have said, but with the language used.
All views are welcome. Bad language and vitriol is not.

I think you'll find Mo, if you look through the threads, there is plenty of disagreement about housemates, who likes who, who gets on someone's nerves, etc. The only time a post gets deleted is if it's offensive, not just because it contradicts someone else's post.
We don't want offensive posts on this board. Lively debate is one thing, personal abuse is something completely different.
Well maybe you would care to explain why the last post I made was deleted. There was no foul language, no innuendo, just me disagreeing with other people?
All I was trying to do was defend Disco, who wasn't here at the time, yet my post was deleted immediately.

On the subject of foul language, I must say I think this year's BB inmates, their behaviour and their conversations are the crudest yet. I don't let my children watch the programme as a result (except very occasionally the Friday 8.30pm show which is before the watershed).

Too right BB is not a beauty contest! Jade is not a nice person most of the time and she is thoughtless and bitchy etc., etc., but just because she doesn't have model looks doesn't make her less of a person, she looks absolutley fine to me. Judge a person on who they are not what they look like. We cannot chose our facial features and should not have to be thin or toned to be accepted... so by all means critisize her behaviour or the way she dresses or presents herself but it is a bit mean to make such an issue about her weight or what her face looks like even if you are joking.
I am not a fan of Jades by any means but I don't think that she deserves to be called a pig.
I post here because the members are friendly... most of the time. I think there are one or two who could be less forceful in their opinions of someone elses views on the odd ocassion but they are very easy to ignore, but generally it is a very pleasant site.
Well done Mark and Lee and all your moderators for doing such a good job!

I have NEVER come here and been unfriendly towards anyone. But I may be very opinionated now and again, but this is the internet and we're on a message board. It'd be very boring if we all felt the same and were unable to debate our different opinions.

We love a good debate and thrive on different opinions!
But some people post in a way that upsets our members, it's as simple as that!
Some people??? Yet other people have the same opinions and have said the same things but are ok? I don't understand the problem with 1 particular person.
This is getting out of control.
There is no need to argue.
