It's the curse that comes around on The X Factor every year, but fate has been doubly cruel this time around, hitting not only poor little Lloyd Daniels but also everyone's favourite Olly Murs with a nasty throat infection. The two boys have had to see a doctor this week, and have been strictly instructed to rest their voices for Saturday's show. Both have said – or croaked weakly – that they are "determined" to perform this weekend, so we just hope they manage to beat the bug in plenty of time. Olly and Lloyd were on the red carpet last night in London's Leicester Square (we'll bring you some photos very shortly), but had to keep the chatting to a minimum. We don't want a repeat of Diana Vickers from last year now, do we?

Probably because they are inexperienced singers and don't know how to look after their voices, it surprises me they don't trained properly before the show to prevent this. If they warmed up properly and sang from the correct places there would be far less chance of getting an infection.

Probably but it could still be avoided, if they are trained a little bit, people on the west end work just as hard, probably more than these guys and they stay perfectly healthy because they look after their voices.

I know I have her on my twitter, she helps them with their songs, but I mean a vocal lesson away from the show... to help breathe properly and to warm up properly. It just seems they aren't doing it if this happens every year.
