Yes, the 90's are the best decade EVER. I loved it, I feel a bit nostalgic of this time period. But oh well, time to move on, the 2000's were also awesome.

80s and early 90s :)

Speaking of old skool, just seen a tibb member on the forum who joined back in 2003, very rare you see members from then back on the forum.

30 to 21;;

30. Aqua – Barbie Girl (1997)

Well, it was gonna appear in the list somewhere. Aqua were a band of the 90s - and even thought they are releasing new material - they will always be a band of the 90s. This is the only Aqua song that'll appear in my list mainly because I think it's the most famous and the best. My 2 yr old Nephew loves this song atm so it has to be on again and again. As annoying as it is, it's catchy :D

zEzh10_xoqw

29. Backstreet Boys – Larger Than Life (1999)

Oddly enough I didn't think I liked this song until I went to do this song and noticed I'd listened to it a lot on iTunes. By far BSB best song. Unlike TT or Boyzone, I don't think they still have it today - but back in the day they were really quite quite good.

1jkH7An7dKk

28. The Rembrandts – I’ll Be There For You (1994)

A song of the 90's and still around today - only due to E4 repeating Friends 1,000,000 times a day. I do think the endless repeats have had maybe made people forget that is actually a good song.
Oh, and as a Friends fan, I love the video.

2KZkklo9LBs

27. Michael Jackson – They Don’t Care About Us (1996)

The second and the last MJ song to appear on my list. I never really took notice of this song until recently, but since then it's notched up quite a few hits on my iTunes. MJ was more an 80's man - so the fact that only 2 of his songs appear on this is nothing against him. I could have chosen Earth Song - but then I remembered, it's annoying. I think deep down we all find Earth Song a tad annoying.

97nAvTVeR6o

26. Bryan Adams – Everything I Do (I Do It For You) (1991)

Anyone who doesn't like this song - has no soul. Fact. It was number 1 for about 66% of the 1990's and sold 40 billions trillion singles. As much as it is tunnne-age, I don't think I could take Bryan Adams more than once in any 24 hour period.

ZGoWtY_h4xo

25. Boyz II Men – End Of the Road (1992)

I was only one when this came out, but I remember it so much through out the 90s. My cousin loved this song so it was belted into me daily. Still, I'm glad. It's a really good, nice, classic tune.

-oqgTA6N-iw

24. Baz Lurnham – Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) (1999)

This song would be higher but I actually don't listen to it that often. I think I the idea of it more than the actual song. And, is it really a song? Either way - it's still great and deserves a mention.

sTJ7AzBIJoI

23. Chumbawamba – Tubthumping (1996)

IGET KNOCKED DOWN - BUTIGETUPAGAIN! Aw, i go so many bruises from this song. This was another song that was played at family birthdays year after year.

3hQDuJJjpvs

22. Basement Jaxx – Red Alert (1999)

Onw of just a few songs on this list that still gets radio airplay today. It never has, and never will, get old. It's Basement Jaxx's best song to dat, IMO. It's just one of them songs that makes you wanna dance! :D

7x9cjjLut48

21. Puff Daddy – I’ll be Missing You (1997)

In the right mood this song can make me cry buckets. It's endless and classic. I'm not a P Diddy (or Diddy, or Puff, or Paddy - or whatever he calls himself now) fan, but this song is epic and it's a song that can get everyone singing along.

20. Five – Keep On Movin’ (1999)

A real 90's song from a real 90's boyband. I still listen to this song today. Nuff said

tbcWEd4opkI

19. Sinead O’Connor – Nothing Compares 2 U (1990)

A tear-jerker. This song is legendary, a true classic and although she's a tad barmy - she's a great great singer.

iUiTQvT0W_0

18. Take That – Never Forget (1995)

Sorry Laura, this is the last TT song in my chart. My favourite TT song by a mile. It puts a smile on my face and gives me goosebumps when I hear it.

NETAkSTzIu8

17. Spice Girls – Stop (1998)

As a boy growing up in the 90's - the worst thing you do was saying you liked a Spice Girls song. But we are all older and wiser now - and I'm not ashamed to say I liked this song back in day. And I still remember the dance moves very clearly :) - I blame my 3 older sisters though.

5JD6ejmlpa8

16. Whigfield – Saturday Night (1994)

Di-di-danna-na!

SI6KTW0Z-4Y

15. Vengaboys – Boom Boom Boom!! (1998)

I used to go a disco every Thursday night growing up. This song was usually player about 17 times in one night - along with another song coming up in the list. I saw these in Dublin one day - still dressed like it was 1998.

yUmZTR56v-E

14. Robbie Williams – Let Me Entertain You (1997)

Yep Laura - Robbie beat TT ;) lol Great song, even better video. Still as great today as it was over 10 years ago.#

wtTb2DZwR4c

13. Steps – Tragedy (1998)

I wanna dedicate this one to Stu <3

Ejbz1VRiAbU

12. Boyzone – Love Me For A Reason (1994)

My sisters LOVED these guys when they were growing up. It's so cheesy, and none of them can really sing. But yet, they pull it off (kinda...in a 90's kinda way).

6tkePfq1f6k

11. Snap! – Rhythm Is A Dancer (1992)

I can't believe this song is sooo old! I still hear this song every weekend when I'm out. It never gets old and it gonna be around for yonks and yonks. A classic 90's dance tuune.

WMPM1q_Uyxc

Coming up - my top 10. Expect cheese to the extreme.

Time for the top 10 ;;

10. T-Spoon – Sex On The Beach (1997)

This song ruined my innocence. I still remember the dance - that kinda seems a lil sick, as it was quite riskéé for a 7 yr old :S

Cause I was a 90's kid, and a pop fan growing up. Thats why. I love bands like this - now. But I didn't ten years ago.

Arneldo
08-11-2009, 11:07 PM
Not a 90's pop fan? THEN LEAVE NOW!

9. Billi – Because We Want To (1998)

She was 15 at the time. I was 7. But I thought she could be mine :( I never knew that atm - liking this song meant you were a 7 yr old girl, a 7 yr old gay.

8. Chesney Hawkes – The One And Only (1991)

Now this is a song that everyone enjoys. You can deny it all you want - but it's lies. You love it. He is a guilty pleasure. This is my karaoke song, and I nail it every time.

7. All Saints – Never Ever (1998)

This song was lower in the chart, but when I listened to it again when doing the chart - I lurved it all over. They were a kinda kick ass Spice Girls, and a Spice Girls that guys could like. I love their newer hit, "Rock Steady", but this is a million times better.

6. Whitney Houston – My Love Is Your Love (1999)

No "Million Dollor Bill" will out do this for me. My favourite Whit-hit. Its on of them songs that just makes me smile and puts me in a nice mood. I love the intro as well (even tho I've spent 10 years wondering what the man is saying)!

Into the top 5 now;;

5. B*Witched – C’est La Vie (1998)

My top Irish entry from the best girl group to come out of Ireland since ... well, emm. I remember B*Witched being huge around my area - and this song being the "Umbrella" of it's day. If you listen really hard you can still hear the cries of "some people say I look like me da.." ...

3. Aerosmith – I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing (1998)

Probably the most universally loved song of the entire list? Everyone loves a birra Aero, and this is probably their most popular and famous song. KK, I've never seen Armageddon - but I still love this song!

2. S Club 7 – Bring It All Back (1999)

My favorite band of the 90's. I loved them, and this their debut single. I watched all their shows, had all the songs (and still do..). This was my number 1 originally but was beat, only just by - obv - the number 1.

Predictable? Peehhh...

1. Robbie Williams – Angels (1997)

It wasn't gonna be number 1 until i coped on a little bit. It a tragedy that this song never made number 1 back in 1997 - and it was beaten by Teletubbies. It's an all time great, a classic, an amazing pop song and a tuuuune.
