Does that fact that most people find marriage partners at work and in the area that they live destroy the myth that there is 1 right person out there for you. Is it not the fact that in every large town there are many mr rights and missus rights - ie no matter where you live you will find someone to marry?

I don't believe that there is only 1 person out there for everyone, no way. I don't want to sound un-romantic but I'm sure there are loads of people out there who are compatible with eachother

Yeah loads of people are compatible.

I think the one you marry is generally your soul mate.
But there is a lot of combatible people before you find that one person.

Yeah, nah, 'The One' does not exist. People go through loves in their life. It's just the way it is.

yeah I agree, there is probs quite a few you are compatible with. At the end of the day love is love, dont make it complicated, if you find love, even if it with someone from the next village (like me) and your happy then that is all that matters!

Nah, there is no "The One" I have a couple of exes who are really nice fellas and had I been with them at a different time in my life I could well be happily married to either of them now. Don't get me wrong, I adore my husband but it has alot to do with right timing as well as compatibilty

I would say the relationship I am in now is the first, hopefully last good one. I had boyfriends before but I was just used by them.

I would say this is my first real relationship, definately compromise, dont get used, understanding, yeah we have a few niffs and tiffs lol but I am still happy after nearly 2 years of being with him! savour the happiness!

So would you say, for an example, that a woman who is 40 and not married or in a long term - the problem is her and not luck?

I am only 20 so I don't know. I think maybe some people expect more, or want more, or people may get bored easily and that way they may end up alone? Probs a mixture of luck and the problem being with themselves too?

There could be a whole lot of reasons for that, she could be too fusy, or difficult to get along with or maybe she just doesn't want to be in a relationship?

Finding someone to marry and finding your soulmate are two totally different things. If you've not found your soulmate you won't understand.

That comment assumes that she would want to be married! As a male - I presume that you assume all women want to get married! You have a lot to learn!

0.01%?

Some women are slags and sleep around in their teens/twenties but when they finally want a long term partner or to get married, the men they want are taken..

sorry this statement is probs true for SOME women!

You are not the most accepting nor the most understanding person I've ever seen post on here and a debate with you is a bit of a chore actually. If you'd met your soulmate you wouldn't be asking the question. That is my reply. No emoticon need.

So, these "slags"... who are they sleeping with? Or is is only okay to call females names when the boys are doing exactly the same??

In your dreams - that's what blokes like to think - makes them feel wanted. Women are financially independent these days - they don't need to get married. Only themselves to worry about - free to do as they please - less work at home - lots of benefits!

Being female is a good start! For the record - most divorces these days are instigated by women. Speaks volumes.

Oh - the beast - I am quite disappointed in you - what a sexist comment. Why shouldn't young women have some fun - just like men do. Come on - you are young - this is the 21st Century. Calling such women slags ...:nono::nono::nono:

"Soul mate" is only a word though Prole, to you it probably means something different to the next person. I adore my husband and I have no desire to be with anyone else but If I had never met him, I'm quite sure I could have met someone else and been happy
