Olly's pretty much got this competition in the bag but will he be successful or will we be in for another Steve/Leon?
I think he'd flop quite badly, people like him on X factor but like Leon his music style probably wouldn't be too relevant in the charts. Saying that I think anyone who wins this year's gonna flop.
Before any Olly fans attack me I don't mind him but I can't see him doing well past the X factor single.

TBH he will fail like Leon
He needs to start doing something different, he COULD be successful, but he has chose a flopping genre of music. We all like it now but it won't get in the pop charts.
If Simon has any brains he will make him more contemporary.
I think he'd be a moderate success, probably getting top 10s and top 20s, maybe a few top 5 albums or whatever until he's dropped. He won't be breaking any records or setting the music world alight though, I don't think any of the final 12 will this year. The real winning spot this year will be second place. 2nd always gets a record deal and never has the stigma of being a flop the minute something underperforms.
Duane could have if Cheryl wasn't so inept and put the other 3 boys through

the retro music works brilliantly on the show
but in the real world he needs to do modern music

There is one major difference between Leon and Olly. That being - Olly is Simon's act. Do you really think Simon want another Steve? He'll make sure the act he wants to win -will win.
But IMO, Leon >>>>> Olly.
It pisses me offf that Simon has just wiped Leon's name from XF history. It's a disgrace really.

Leon was awful though, but then again there wasn't one single marketable person that year apart from Daniel but Louis completely screwed him over.

I just don't see what he could do , where is his niche? We already have Robbie Williams as the Cheeky Prince of Pop we don't need another.

Olly reminds me of Jamiroquai, he could go down that kind of route. Well he did at his audition anyway

But why isn't he singing modern pop/dance songs instead of those atrocious old fashioned dirges he performs every week. Olly also has problems doing slower songs as shown by his terrible performance of 'Your Song' during boot camp and by his rather lame rendition of 'She's the One' in the first live show.

I don't think he could :/ He's becoming increasingly boring too. The genre Simon keeps giving him is the same each week, music in which he can wiggle his hips too and try and put some charm in.
I THINK and I'm not being the biased, the only one with a possible longer career ahead of them is Joe. If he doesn't win, he'll be fantastic in musical theatre and he could be a huge breakout. I get the feeling he doesn't want to do that though. It could be possible for him to alternate between recording and performing on stage.

All Olly's songs sound the same and Joe won't have a music career but he has musical theatre written allover him, thats my main problem with him on the show

I agree, and that's why I dislike him, I hate his wishes-he-could-actually-dance dancing, he can't dance and his moves make his performances cringe worthy and uncomfortable for me
