The Jedward twins told last night how they have become the victims of a "savage" hate campaign being waged by vile X Factor obsessives.

John and Edward Grimes, 18, say the abuse has got so bad they've been left unable to sleep and have been reduced to tears after receiving a barrage of threats from fans in the street.

Last night in an exclusive interview with the Sunday Mirror, the pair said: "We get hate mail and vicious letters. Some of the hate mail is so bad X Factor haven't let us see it.

"It's hard when we have to go out and perform and be happy and confident and smiley because we know if we slip up they'll come after us."

Why should we love them - they have done nothing to earn it. People get admired for their talent - but they have none. All the practice in the world won't make them good singers.

They're terrible and yet they were the most entertaining last night. Tells you alot about the quality of the show really.

How good Danyl/Olly/Stacey/Lucie/etc/etc is as a singer won't make me love him/her, but the way the twins are with their performances and how they take all the stick makes me love them. I really don't care that they can't sing. They are great entertainers and Ghostbusters was perfect for them because there was minimum singing, but plenty of performance.

People find it funny like they would watching kids in a school play - but it doesn't mean that should win the show. They are not deserving of a SINGING recording contract.

It isn't a comedy/entertainment contract - it is a singing/recording contract. One that they are not entitled to.

I have no sympathy for them. If they did not assume they would get hate before going on the show, they really are mentally crippled.

Why should everyone love them?

People are always going to hate them, no one can be loved by everyone.

I personally dont like them, and never will.

If they wanted to entertain people, why didnt they go on BGT? They ruined what used to be a singing show, now its a complete joke!

If they're going to entertain send them to Britains Got Talent. I'm sure they'll find use of the big production value for the Royal Variety thing. When it comes down to it, the winner of The X Factor is looking to have a recording career not a career of big production shows. John and Edward CAN'T sing and thats why they shouldn't win. When you compare winners such as Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke to John and Edward....it doesn't make sense and I hope you see that.

But the X Factor has never been about singing, if it was about that G4 would have won, Brenda would have won, Rhydian would have won. It's more of a personality and popularity contest.

They have grown on my slightly, but I don't want them to win and I won't be upset if they leave. By growing on me... I mean I can watch them and not get angry now.

I find the booing hilarious though haha.

A bit hypocritical, Britain's got TALENT and people are hating them because people think they are TALENTLESS.

I personally think they are talented and entertaining. They make my Saturday night's interesting.

The twins can sing allright, there has been worse singers in the chart who got to number one. With the right tunes they can end up making successful albulms :thumbs:

That Steven dude was right on the extra factor, the twins are going to make the most money whether they win or lose. Jedmania is already a franchise!

Thats your view, I fell sorry for them, I actually think that they think their good...... poor things.

I agree the hate is too much, even know Im a member of most hate grioups decated to them. Lol!

This is hard for me to say, last night was their best peformance, but still bad!

It's the John Sergeant factor, the public has a sense of humour and they love an underdog plus Jedward have got a firm hold on the kids vote which can be quite strong. They've only got a few weeks left though at best.

I never said they were not talented. I said they cannot SING. You don't have to sing to be talented. Talent on Britains Got Talent can be many things...comedy, dancing, acting etc. They can perform, no one has ever denied that. They just can't sing and they're on a singing competition. That's like going on I'm A Celebrity... and not being a celebrity.

I dont see the problem about them staying a couple more weeks.They have no chance of winning because if they make the top 2 there will be a mass vote on the other act(who ever it is!).
They'll kepp things entertaining for a few more weeks and then we can focus on talent for the last few weeks.

As much as I dislike them still being on the show.. I wouldn't boo them. At the end of the day it is not their fault they are still in and they have probably worked hard and it takes guts to get up and sing in front of people. Lmfao. It must be hell of a scary
