It's not surprising, they have their looks to make up for their completely sub par and generic songs.

I think in the long run Alexandra will be a lot more succesful. She's going to be huge in America soon

I hope you are right.
I was talking to my friend from America.
He had heard lexandra's Bad Boys and said it mightn't do well because they don't like it when black artists sing popier songs.
I hope he's wrong though.

The female audience is a powerful retail group, The most successful film of all time was Titanic which was aimed at a female audience, If we look at films, female based films generally always do extremely well. The female audience is what's made Nintendo such a force to be reckoned with again.
JLS' success is purely down to their looks. The first thing the girls I know that like them comment on first is their looks.
JLS can back there Looks up with there Immense Talent and Performing ability

I think they are all really ugly.
Apart from the main guy with the cheekbones.
The rest are mingers.

I think to say it's PURELY on their looks. Their songs are as catchy and current as anything else out there at the minute. I personally don't like them but I can see why a lot of people would.

If Everybody In Love was released in the US it would be a hit, probably top 50 on the Hot 100 and top 10 on the RnB chart.
Their next single is their best yet, another Number 1 for them :)
more evidence that music is going through it's worst ever period
I like One Shot, Keep You and Kickstart.
Hope One Shot is next single, really good.
Lewis.
15-11-2009, 05:35 PM
I can see why people are buying it though. It's very current and catchy. Still.. I personally dislike them.
JLS will be bigger than Alex in the US.
Theres not much space in the US market for another Beyonce clone like Alexandra, but theres a huge gap for a fresh and modern boyband like JLS.

But would they have even been signed if it wasn't for the looks and muscles or would they have just disappeared like most XF groups?
Remember that last year they were frequently featured in Heat Magazine and things like that for their looks and such, it's one of their biggest reasons they got signed because teenage girls fancy the pants of them and will buy any old crap as long as they take their shirts off.

I think One Shot should be the third single too, best track on the album. But apparently it's Close To You.

JLS are the new Take That, without the talent though. But they have fans just as dedicated, they'll be around for a good while yet.
MrGaryy
15-11-2009, 05:41 PM
I don't like them but I don't see why people call them untalented. They can all sing, all dance and write some of their own material iirc.
Princess
15-11-2009, 05:42 PM
Well they're not untalented, just as not talented as TT were back in the day. But yeah there's no boyband competetion either, all the other's are manbands now.

When it comes to boybands though Jonas Brothers pretty much have that covered. They won't do well, Alexandra's gonna struggle but I think JLS will bomb.
i wonder if theyll do a naked photoshoot

The charm will have warn off by then and their core audience would have grown up. Don't think they'll be around for ten years until we know how well the second album will do.
Locke.

I hope Leona can beat them ;D
Black Eyed Peas just beat Leona in the singles chart, her album ain't gonna sell more in its first week than JLS's did :joker:

What so they'll have 5 number 1 albums,11 number 1 singles,7 Brit Awards,4 Ivor Novellos,10 sell-out tours, the only band ever to play 4 dates in the new Wembley? Yeah I don't think so

All that +10 MOBO awards

Jonas Brothers arn't a boyband though are they?
Anyway you're wrong.JB arn't really a commercial band.Their music doesn't get played on US radio at all and their singles flop. All they have is a Disney fanbase.

I wouldn't bet on it, Leona has a much wider target audience then JLS' army of teenage girls. Plus ITV will be whoring her ads all week as well as the X Factor. Leona's gonna sell more simply because her target audience is wider as is her worldwide fanbase.

I always thought they were like the rest of the disney brigrade and always topping the charts? I'd DEFINATELY say they were a boyband.

You're right, but JLS's album still wont sell half as much as Leona's did:joker:.

No.They dont get any radio support so all they really get is a #1 on the first week slaes from their album and drop dramatically the next week because theres only so many teenage girls who will buy their album!
I wouldn't count them as a boyband because they play their own instruments and dont dance, but whatever!

Exactly. At least Alexandra sells for her voice and not her body or her looks, But Alexandra will also do better than them in the US IMO
-JLS are better dancers than Alexandra
-Aston is as good a singer as Alexandra
-They actually write some of their music.

On the front of her album cover she is showing her bra, and spreading her legs open. On the back of her album she has her ass out. She has done topless (covering) photo, almost every performance I have seen her do she wears tiny skirts and has all her legs showing. Yes, she does use her body to try and sell more records.

Maybe she does in photoshoots but people usually buy the single after seeing the music video, people wont see her album cover or single cover until they buy it, she never once lifts her top off like they do, in their first ever video, Alexandra sold 1 million+ by just standing in a room filled with candles

And how many other young boy bands are there atm? None.

No she sold 1 million + because it was on the back of X Factor. And I don't know about Bad Boys, never seen the video.

Well you should, I'll admit, she is wearing that silver dress thats in the picture you posted but you barely even see it, the rest of the video she is in a black leather suit, no short tops, vest tops flashing muscled arms or anything like they do
