The founding members of the Sugababes have reportedly hired Peter Andre's manager Claire Powell to helm a comeback.

According to The Sun, Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy met last week and have decided to move ahead with a planned reunion.

A record label source said: "The comeback is gathering momentum.

"Mutya had a lot of convincing to do to get the girls around the table to sort things out. That happened last week and they are all game to give it a go."

They added: "Mutya's manager knows he needs some muscle to make it a commercial success and he's called in his old pal Claire.

"The other girls are delighted to be back in touch. They are bang up for it with the new management team. They are now looking for a record deal and have started planning for a big launch next year."

Earlier this month, Buchanan's manger said that the singer is concentrating on her solo career and "is definitely, 100% not going to be involved in any kind of Sugababes reformation".

The current Sugababes lineup of Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen are recording brand new material for inclusion on their upcoming Sweet 7 album.

I wonder what their name will be? The Sugabirds .

Would they be called Suga or some other kind of variation of Sugababes, or something completely new d'you reckon?

who do you think will win out in the end between the two bands?

I think if the reformed Sugababes get some decent press coverage, they'll easily be the more popular band. Amelle and Jade could easily salvage solo careers, Heidi would probably end up appearing on every reality TV program on the go...

Rubbish.
Why would Keisha want to join a group with two floppy has-beens?
She could be huge as a solo artist.

I think she's probably just keeping her options open just in case her solo career fails.

Everyone said Mutya would be a hugely successful solo artist too :\
Truth is, I can't see her being successful.

I think Keisha would be great as a solo artist, Mutya had her time and is so pushy for a reunion that Keisha won't get a shot at a solo career

Because they were the two most talented Sugababes ever?
Mutya's solo album was incredible, IMO, and what I heard from Siobhan was pretty decent too.
