Sir Terry Wogan is joined by Tess Daly and Alesha Dixon for a spectacular night of fun and fundraising.
The seven-hour show will come live from BBC Television Centre and will feature some of the UK's top TV, musical and theatrical personalities and acts.
Highlights on the night include:
• Live performances by Pixie Lott, Taylor Swift, Alesha Dixon, Spandau Ballet, Madness, Harry Connick Jr, Sugababes, Stereophonics, Little Boots, Paolo Nutini, The Nolans, Westlife, Alison Moyet and Annie Lennox.
• A special edition of Lark Rise To Candleford, where Sir Terry makes a guest appearance at the village Post Office.
• A special performance from the stars of Strictly Come Dancing.
• The Dragons' Den team don hard hats and overalls to help renovate a Children in Need community centre in London.
• The cast of The One Show recreate Fame; plus a musical extravaganza from Albert Square and the cast of EastEnders.
• An exclusive preview of the Doctor Who Christmas special.
• The animals from Walk On The Wild Side star in a Children in Need special sketch.
• Contributions from the cast of Merlin, Casualty and top TV detective Poirot.
• Live performances on the night from the cast of The Bill, performing a Rat Pack classic, and Hollyoaks treating fans to a medley of Queen's greatest hits.
• Appeal messages from a host of celebrities, including Lewis Hamilton and Lady Gaga.
• Stars of the West End will be live in the studio, including Jason Donovan with the cast of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert.
• Justin Lee Collins performs a live version of a Tom Jones classic.
• Around The World In 80 Days partners, John Barrowman and Myleene Klass, duet live in the studio.
• And, of course, the BBC newsreaders perform a very, very special live performance.
The programme will also feature broadcasts from around the UK, as BBC presenters join their local communities to catch up with some energetic and creative fundraising exploits.
This year the fundraising theme is, once again, "Do Something Different" and all those who step up to the challenge, or pick up the phone to pledge money for the BBC Children in Need Appeal, will be part of a huge community of supporters that make a huge difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
To get involved, check out the website at: bbc.co.uk/pudsey.
Last year's BBC Children in Need television broadcast raised £21 million pounds on the night and the 2008 total appeal eventually topped £38 million.

Watched a bit of it tonight.. I wanted to watch the doctor who clip, eventhough I don't really watch doctor who.. says it all really, this is how interesting children in need has been! It just drags on and on!
Comic Relief is better though! It was great when Davina was presenting it. Shame it is only on once every 2 years!

Ive noticed wogan and Tess have stayed on, usually someone takes over at night
16 million with 2 hours to, they need 5-6 million to beat last year, doubt they ll do it.

I am sure comic relief raised about 56 million on the night?
Nicky.
20-11-2009, 11:19 PM
Waiting for Peter Andre, then I'm gonna go to bed lol xD
Nobody I really like on it this year, except Peter Andre and JLS, who I love xD
and I Comic Relief is so much more popular to donate to, I think it's because it's for the people in the poor countries, and it's advertised soo much better, with the red noses and everything, everyone gets involved!

Wondering why they havnt advertised the Text number at all tonight. Think that is the best way they can make money as well, people might not want to ring a stranger up/probably feel pressured into giving more money then they want, whereas the text thing is easy 5quid.

Hold Up A Light? Not sure if it's gonna be a single or not,Gaz said it was just being played for promotional purposes but a few radio stations have said the live version is being released on the 14th December which is a bit stupid considering the live album is out on the 30th November. Anyways yeah,no confirmation from any TT official people yet.
Oh and I forgot to say I LOVE Peter Ka's song, especially the Never Forget bit!
