I can just see it now, Channel 4 having a shocking year in 2011 and bringing it back after a years rest. This is how the string of ex housemates saying 'BB needs axing' started.

Reality TV star Brian Belo has claimed that the best series of Big Brother are "magical".

Belo also argued that the Channel 4 programme's "legacy" could be seen in shows such as The X Factor.

"I'm watching back series three at the moment to remember why I fell in love with it in the first place. I think a vintage year of Big Brother is quite magical. Hopefully that's something we'll see next year and it will go out with a bang," the series eight winner told DS.

Speaking about the programme's demise, he said: "I think possibly the show got too big. Everyone was talking about it on every platform. Obviously everyone does that now with X Factor, but Big Brother really was the first one to do that. People can say what they want now, but everything stems from it.

"Even the new X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary is an old Big Brother host. The legacy of Big Brother will be around in the British media industry forever. Plus - I love Jedward - but I think they reinstate the fact that X Factor is a reality TV show and not a serious singing contest."

He added: "I don't think we've seen the end of Big Brother. Look at Doctor Who. That took a well-earned hiatus and came back brilliantly."

Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 4 in January.

brian belo is big brother's little gimp who basically does anything they tell him in order to get his face on tv
hopefully endemol find a proper home for the show in 2011 as channel 4 have done their very best to kill big brother off
all this 'going out with a bang' stuff coming out of channel 4 is just more of their bull crap.

Brian Belo, the biggest con merchant ever in BB.

His fake not knowing who Shakespeare was just took the biscuit. I just knew he was fake.

It won't happen.
There may be a sort of 'ratings bubble' with a certain kind of viewer who watches for some sentimental 'one last look' sort of attention,
but,
HAD they only ended this at BB9. What a great season to have gone out on. It would have left on a 'high'.
A sense of job-well-done had by everyone involved and yes it would have left the public fondly recalling BB,
and,
yes.. maybe even desiring to see more.

BB10 ruined it all.
It was like feeding people cheap sweets even after they had enough dessert. It was sickening. It ruined all appetites.

I strongly agree with those here who say they ought to make the best of CBB and BB11 and maybe more as 'wrap party' type of events (and the shorter the better),
but,
after that its time to shelve the concept for several years and maybe 5 years from now it will work only if done in a completely different style altogether. That might even be in a more 'serious' adult and 'documentary' style or who knows,
but,
still only after we get a good solid break away from it for a few years.

I think BB10 was one series too far, I agree they should have left it after BB9. The ratings were also pretty much the same as BB8 so it must have had a bit of social impact even though it wasn't the huge one BB1-7 had. If they had left it at BB9 I think there would have been a massive chance of it coming back a few years down the line.

BB10 for me was BB8 but even worse. I agree that we should have had a break and Big Brother could have come back with a bang. Instead, it came back this summer with a whimper with the same housemates, poorly thought out tasks and a lack of viewer interest.

Excacally! Like Craig Phillips who says BB Should be axed.

Why?
Because he isnt knowen anymore and is just pissed he went on BB1 and not one of the newer versions.
Hes a prick and would be nothing without BB much like other Housemates.

1. Then its not Big Brother then is it? If it has a completely diffrent format!
It would be boring and stupid and only 50 year olds would watch it if it was that serious!

2. Yeah :D Big Brother 9 was ****ing Amazing! Best series Ever

Craig is actually one of the highest earning housemates and is still about today. I guess you can't say the same for Rachel and Sophie in 10 years time
