JEDWARD were last night on the brink of pocketing £50,000 each to replace Jordan on I'm A Celebrity.
And Dancing On Ice host Phillip Schofield declared he is also keen for the twins to appear on his show in January.
ITV bosses approached John and Edward's X Factor mentor Louis Walsh yesterday in an outrageous bid to sign them up for the jungle.
He flew back to Dublin last night to convince the twins' parents, Brian and Susan Grimes, that joining I'm A Celeb was the best move for their fledgling showbiz career.
ITV chiefs have issued a strict deadline of 5.30pm today for Louis to persuade them.
Simon Cowell also insisted it was a "great idea" for them to join the show in the Australian outback.
A source close to the twins told The Sun: "ITV are determined to get the twins. A flight can be arranged in time so they could be in camp by this weekend.
"It would be a nailed on ratings-winning coup if Louis manages to persuade them it's a good move for their career.
"Louis still believes ITV haven't offered enough money. But the twins were completely unknown a couple of months ago and everyone around them is saying they should make hay while the sun shines."
GMTV host Ben Shepherd asked Jedward yesterday morning if they would be interested in joining the jungle.
John asked: "Can we do that? Are we celebrities?" Edward added: "I'm A Celebrity - do we have that title?
"We're up for any challenge, we've got to think about it together and see if it's for us."

I'll be very surprised if it happens as I'm sure it's against the X Factor contract but since it's an ITV show it could very well happen.....It's EXTREMELY unlikely though.

Whaaat! That would be too funny if they go in, finally get them out one show, just to be popped into another :joker:
Haha, they would probably win it if they went it!

well they're confirmed for The Late Late Toy Show in Dublin on Friday so unless they go in after that...

I think it would work
And theyd be back in time for the final
I'd definitely accept it - they need as much publicity right now as they can get so they don't fade back into obscurity, because there's really no chance of them getting the spotlight back.

Be foolish not to do it, thats if ITV do want them for the show..
I hope they do take part and as a double act so both do any tasks together.. Should be good.

That is a matter of definition. I don't think most people in this country would class those two as celebrities. That would certainly cheapen the word celebrity - the word would no longer mean a thing!

The definition of celebrity is not what it used to be. Nowadays, you do a sex tape and you're famous.

Name one person in there who is more famous?
Seriously J&E have been on the front cover of at least one national UK newspaper everyday for the last 2 months and they've performed to an audience of 14 million people every weekend for 2 months.Everyone is talking about them.
They are far more famous then anyone in that jungle.

A lot of people may have heard of them from the tv and newspapers recently - that doesn't make them celebs! Big difference! Many are also sick of the sight and sound of them - don't want to see any more of them!

and?
My point is that they are more famous in the UK than anyone else in that jungle.

Well, according to your rationale, anyone in the papers is a celeb - perhaps we should stick that naughty 4 year-old in there- that might produce a few laughs as well!

Not necessarily they have until 5 isnt it?
I also said on page 1 that they have been lined up for Ireland's biggest chat show on friday, they do a toy show for kids, so would make sense, however they wont get paid for it so maybe it is the jungle...???

It would be interesting, but I can't see it happening. I don't think they've ever introduced new celebrities into the show once elimination have happened. If they did do it, it would be for a guest spot I'd imagine.

I still don't believe it! I think the audience for this show is generally older than for the other tv reality shows - and I don't think sending them in will sit at all well with many of the viewers. Not to mention those already in there! Think many will turn off in their droves. Big risk for the producers to take! If they do - then audiences must be falling anyway - an act of desperation!

I hope this happens, it would be a great idea and as they can't sing, yet are entertaining, they should go in.

No many of the shows will be on from 8:30PM soon
so younger people are watching
They would not Turn Off
they would Vote the Twins to do the Tasks
as Punishment.

How is it punishment? Getting to be on another reality tv show in Australia with celebrities, get paid for the priviledge - not to mention the publicity - not my idea of punishment!
It's the viewers being punished!

Most in the UK Hate Jordan
she was Punished by the UK Public and ran out of the jungle
a Weak Woman.
Watching those Twins in a Pond with baby Crocs attacking them
and them eating/puling on Kanga Balls
is what the Public want,
Not you of course , though.

I think the best punishment would be to just disappear off our screens - never to return! No publicity, no money, no nothing.
