Ah come on lads, you're being a bit unfair to the chap. He's already won more titles than Henman and he's only 22 and he's reached a grand slam final, but yeah, I still question his ability to last till the end of a draining 2 weeks of tennis, especially with his questionable stamina and body. But if you're talking about pure talent he can beat any of them on a given day.

Button will win it.
But I'd rather Giggs or Haye did.
And Murray is far from ****!
Jenson Button - Won the season so he deserves it.

Jessica Ennis - Who? Heptathlete
Ryan Giggs - hasnt defoe performed better and lennon as good?
David Haye - He won a fight where he was **** and only landed 2 punches. just no.
Phillips Idowu - who? Triple jumper
Andy Murray - hes **** people, keep up. No he's not!
Andrew Strauss - Hes a difference maker but not the biggest star there.
Beth Tweddle - who? Gymnast

C'mon Andy!!
Surely Chris Hoy > Mark Cavendish ?
Andy is poor, based on since he doesnt win from what ive seen.
The diver boy.. maybe in a few years.
The rest are just to low profile.
Rooney should be on there really, getting us to the world cup..

Surely Chris Hoy > Mark Cavendish ?
Not for 2009, no way. Cavendish competed in Tour De France this year and had 6 stage wins. Haven't seen Hoy do anything.
Brad.

people who say "who?" to well known names , no matter what their field , really do themselves no favours .
Mark Cavendish - won more TDF stages than any brit in history in 2009
Tom Daley - current 10m world champion at 15 y/o
Jessica Ennis - current heptahlon world champion
Phillips Idowu - world champion triple champion ( 2009 outdoor and 2008 indoor)
Beth Tweddle - current world champion ( gymnastics floor) high bar world champion in 2006
Andy Murray has won 6 titles this year and reached a SF and a Final - and reached no.2 in the world at one point
Hes not **** no.
But hes **** as in hes won **** all.
You don't follow tennis then.

I don't think F1 should be included in this really. Most of the success boils down to the car and teams, not the drivers.

Untrue it does depend a lot on the driver.

Why?
Because i dont watch tour de france
the heptahlon
etc?
I knew tom daley i just forgot who he was..

Shouldn't matter about the end of the season. He's won 6 titles, most recent one came in Valencia at the start of November. two Masters titles, two 500 tournaments and two 250 tournaments. 4th Round (Australian Open), Quarter Final (French Open), Semi Final (Wimbledon), 4th Round (US Open).
Pretty good year for a player!
However having said this all I doubt he'll win it, Button or Haye will win it

Dont see why Button was favourite for it..one good season out of about 10 plus he has a better car then most of the others..hardly an achievement down to him is it
giggsy has been at the top of his game for loads of seasons

I disagree.....kind of.....When drivers actually drived the car as oppsed to these buttons on the steering wheel they had a heck of a lot to do.....only person who should be considered for any award like that is Michael, he won more races and set more records than anyone else ever has done and ever will do. rant over :spin:

Jeeeesus no.
Footballs overhyped enough as it is. Fair enough that Giggs won it this year because he's really done alot for the sport but a footballer every year would suck balls tbh.

I don't get where all these awards are coming from for Giggs. He didn't have a particulary great season last year. Started something like 12 Premier League games.
