The MSN group convo I'm in's got me scared. Only Linda and I know who he is - and she's left TiBB :(

Any fans?

He's an absolute legend. His autobiography is worth reading. Very interesting life.

Pryor was crazy hilarious. I would think most people have seen Brewsters millions. Ive mainly watched his stand up routines. Most of the black stand up these days are inspired by him, especially Bernie Mac (RIP), or Steve Harvey.

Probably my favourite sketch of his and the mad thing is that it's all true, albeit slighty exaggerated.

I dont think his movies sucked so much, but i never thought Richard Pryor was a very good movie actor. I liked some of his movies, but in general, I thought he wasnt great in movies. HE seemed a bit too uncomfortable. But when it came to stand up, he was the best. I think he should've done some sitcoms. HE wouldve been great in those settings imo. But he never really did any.

Ok! I can see that. Maybe that was it then. I just can imagine him doing roles like Eddie Murphy did after his stand up days. Eddie always seemed so confident, and over the top! And that worked. i think RP, probably shouldve done similar roles. :)

Rubbish. He was involved in writing the script and was supposed to play the part but the producers wanted a less infamous or provocative person in the role.

I cant stand Chris Rock!!
Most people like him but I find him just obnoxious! I dont know why, I usually like most stand ups, but Chris Rock, No comment. DOnt like him at all. cant explain why, because there are people with the same style, that I like. Its probably just his face! :o

I like Chris Rock. He's very similar to Eddie Murphy though, and you can't really compete with him.

And neither of them can hold a candle to the late, great Richard Pryor.

Nah, he's nowhere close to him... he's said it himself even.

Comedy is subjective though.

Eddie will no doubt believe that RP was a better comedian than he is. RP is one of Eddie's idols after all.

But, no matter how many people think it, or even the fact that Eddie himself thinks it.. there will still be people (like myself) who enjoy both comedians, and feel that one is every bit as good as the other.
