You can't legislate against what people think and what they say in their own homes!

What they should legislate against with extremely serious consequences - is people preaching hate against and encouraging the killing of Brits on their own streets!

It sounds like the couple were having a debate with her - questioning her beliefs - much like we do on here - and people do every day in a free country - but she decided to make an issue out of it - probably with a hidden agenda of her own!

LeatherTrumpet, what are you hoping to achieve with starting these various debates?

Also I would have put the reporting of this case in the News section, as this is the discussing of the outcome of a court case and not debating a proposal.

This comes across as gloating which is not pretty or attractive.

If you are trying to actively witness your faith here, there are other ways of doing it.

Rather than constantly mark my posts by your own standards try just posting your own opinions. If you dont like the thread then do not post. This is a debate about freedom of speech, perhaps you could also pay a little homage to that?

Lucky bastard! I would love to do that. And try out one of them sensory deprivation tank things. I tried Astral Projection/Sleep Paralysis but never got past being able to lift myself out of my body. I just sort of layed in a dream state buzzing all over.

I believe atheism is very empty too. The mind is an endlessly complex, emotional creature, and I don't believe it's purely the work of chemicals combining. Not that I disregard science, but I just see it as humans way of interpreting things. People assume because you can explain something scientifically that it must suddenly be lost of all spiritual meaning. That's bollocks. If you had told people thousands of years ago that we are all composed of billions of atoms, they would have regarded it as amazing. Now we just shrug our shoulders and go ''they're just atoms, they do such and such''.

Was an atom an atom before science stuck the finger out and said ''hey yo, this is an atom''.

Rant, I know, but I have a hard time explaining to people my views on this because they think you have to fall into either religion or science, like two sides in a war!

InOne

I just love the fact Science flourishes in ignorance, it does not claim to know the truth. But what you should know, theories are based on facts. So you really can't ever try to dispute evolution. No matter how much you think Dawkins and Hitchins are 'Agressive Atheists'
