Would you watch a film with Subtitles?

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!?

EDIT: I generally mean foreign films but if you watch things with subtitles feel free to say.

It doesn't put me off, I like foreign films a lot and some of my favourites are subtitled like Battle Royale or Let the Right One In and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and The Orphanage.

Subtitled films are great. Really it all depends on how good the film is. Subtitles won't make a difference to me.

Take the Passion Of The Christ for instance. Three quarters of the script were virtually ''AGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAH BACK!'' and ''AGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAH HANDS!'' anyway so the subs were irrelevant.

It's like any convention really; you grow more accustomed to it as the film progresses and finally accept it as part of the norm. Doesn't diminish the power of a film for me at all - in fact, more often than not it actually adds to the immersive quality of a piece of work.

Ive only really watched one subtitle film ''Il Postino'' had to watch it for my media a-level. Its kinda hard cause you have to keep up with 2 things, plus the film was boring, but I kinda like subtitles in a way, gives you a complete look at a different culture. cause its unrealistic if you have a foreign film but in english

"C.R.A.Z.Y." and "Run, Lola, Run" are two of my favourite movies ever, and they are both subtitled.
All the subtitiled fims I've seen so far were great, on the majority, way above the standard of Hollywood productions.

I always have the subtitles on films anyway when I watch them in bed so I don't have to have the TV turned up too loud lol.

So no it doesn't bother me. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Battle Royale are two of my favourite films and they both subtitled.

Yeah. My favourite game has subtitles on by default and since I can't be arsed to change it every time I play I put up with it.

I love some German films...Lola Rennt, Good Bye Lenin!, Das Leben der Anderen, Im Juli, Fatih Akin's movies...

and some Spanish ones too. Y Tu Mama Tambien in particular. Was Volver in English or Spanish/Portuguese? I can't remember.

I leave my subtitles on all the time when I watch TV. Only when I watch a film I turn them off.
