you're all totally not seeing how great it can be for him. Firstly, they will obviously chage the arrangement for him. and besides the fact Miley first sang it, it's not a particularly girly or kiddy song. The lyrics are perfect for the winner's song:

Before he came on to sing this i was like oh my it won't be good but my god it was better than Joe's in my opinion. The whole emotion of it, it was so sad!
Even my dad, who hates olly, thought his version was much better.

You can't deny it was probably one of the best performances he has ever done, what a way to leave the competition!
