The dancing is to distract from his less than great voice - and even the dancing is very basic. As for entertaining - sick of that arguement for always voting for the untalented. Entertaining is a very personal thing - and very much a matter of opinion! I find it much more entertaining listening to Joe's consistently perfect performances.
