Well its going to be a bit of burden singing with people who have had that much success and fame isnt it? He may not of directed at their talent neccassarily

Who MJ? Of course not, but IF he was still with us, and sang with Joe for example, MJ would never hd said that.
It was a bit arrogant for GM to say it.

I really don't think it was arrogant to be honest.
I think (and I said this in the other thread) that he was referring to the fact that meeting someone famous is stressful enough, let alone singing with them, on stage, in front of millions.
If it was arrogance, he'd have said "meeting people like ME"..

ffs - he simply mean't - well known celebrities - and how that was likely to intimidate many!
And let's face it - many on this forum are celebrity mad - they count every ex-contestant of every cheap reality show as celebrities and become VERY starstruck about them. Most would probably pass out from the excitement of meeting a 'real' celebrity! :joker:

Spot on!
And, it irritates the crap out of me when someone with true talent, well established in the music industry doesn't get afforded a fraction of the respect some of the half-arsed XF wannabe's do.

I gey what you mean, but in my eyes it meant what I said. "People like us", other people clocked on and said the same thing about his arrogance.
I thought Joe was better than him anyway.

By 'us' he only meant well known singers I think, he didnt mean to sound liked he looked down on them.

I genuinely think it's been misconstrued Salv. A lot of people seen it the same way as you, but I didn't.

It's people who want to dislike him - jumping on a perfectly innocent remark - just to have a dig at him. Those very same people probably wouldn't have passed comment if Robbie had said it. I think Robbie is far more arrogant than George!

I thought it wa sonly me, but when my friends and sister reacted in the same way and all agreed, I thought that he was being arrogant, probably different context then

Not everyone will have an ulterior motive for taking it that way. Some might simply just have taken it the wrong way. That's my thoughts anyway, for what it's worth.

Well said. This is getting ridiculous and slightly ironic when you consider that alot of peope on here have fits just thinking about going out for a drink with Rebecca and Luke for feck sake! Of course they'd be sh3tting it and George Michael was simply complimenting them on their ability to perform under such pressure.
i dont mind people with arrogance
mohammed ali and brian clough are hero's of mine

I cringed a bit too, I don't think he meant it like that but I think he could have phrased it better.

I don't think he meant it arrogantly
but even if he did he is right, all 3 of the artists who did the duet are far superior to the contestants
