The final didn't come anywhere near the predicted 20m

Some stupid assumptions. Last nights final was down on last years final by over 1m, not even being the most watched show this series, coming nowhere near the predicted 20m.

What awful ratings. Mind you if I'm honest there wasn't the usual 'final' buzz that there usually is. Probably because it's being spread over two nights. :bored:

I'd imagine tonight's will be a lot higher. Can't see it getting any more than 16/17m, which is a shame.

It's awful considering how well the series was doing at the start of the live shows.

Obviously 12 million in itself isn't awful, but as it's down on many previous live shows and nowhere near anything predicted it's awful for the final.

Seriously? It was Olly, Stacey, and Joe, for gods ssakes! I didnt watch it. And honest to god, I have not missed an Xfactor Final, since the one with Shane and Andy. Thats the first one I have ever watched, and Ive looked forward to them all since. This one? Couldnt be bothered. Its not a strong final. Good luck to them, but it has not been the best year, in terms of talent.

To be honest, my favorite, was Leon Vs Rydhian. U thought it was the best in terms of drama. But I liked the other 2 as well. Shayne andy and Journey south I think. And Leona vs Ray (although, I knew who would win that one).
lAST year, was also unpreditable. I thought JLS would win, but there were nothing between the 3 acts. The best final woulve had Diana vickers in it, because she had so many fans. BUt it was a good series.

Last years was brilliant and unpredictable, and both Alex and JLS have proven that X Factor can produce good artists. Either of them could have won although I think it was right Alex won because she is going to America. Diana would have made a good final although I would've liked to see Ruth in it :tongue:

I think the spark has been lost inbetween last year and this year, last night just felt like an ordinary show. They need to act quickly if XF has a long term future.

The main flaw, in the two night format, is that they leave the lines open till the next day.Might seem insignificant, but it affects the results a lot. If they only leave the lines open for the night, 2 or 3 hours, people will more likely vote for the performances on the night. But the way they do it, people vote for their fanbases, regardless of the show on saturday. most girls dont get big fanbases. so that why you see them all go out so quickly. Thats why J&E survived for so long, no matter how bad they were. The format is good, but they have to stop being greedy, and shut down the voting lines within 2 or 3 hours.
