Still feeling a little bit weepy after losing his friend, Eugene came to the Diary Room to chat about his feelings with Big Brother.
Admitting that he had been crying, Eugene put on a brave face as he remembered his recently departed friend.
"I'm going to miss him," he said of Derek. "I'm happy to have met him, he was a great role model."
Big Brother reminded Eugene that it won't be long until he sees Derek again and the thought seemed to cheer him up a little.
In the final week Eugene explained to Big Brother that he plans to spend more time with the other Housemates as he feels he has neglected them a tad.
"I'm chuffed that the public like me," he said, risking a smile. "I thought I was dull and irritating."
No way Eugene! Now tell us the one about the analogue radio again...
