America's biggest family was celebrating a new arrival last night - baby number NINETEEN.

Tiny Josie Brooklyn was born several months early by emergency caesarean after mum Michelle Duggar, 43, was found to be suffering from pre-eclampsia, a condition that causes high blood pressure.

Josie weighed just 1lb 6ozs and was last night in a stable condition at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Michelle and her husband of 25 years, Jim Bob, gave up using birth control when she suffered a miscarriage after the birth of their first child. Since then she has become pregnant about once every 18 months, and their brood - aged from one to 21 - includes two sets of twins. All the children have names beginning with J. Last night a spokesman said: "Michelle is resting comfortably and the baby is stable."

They have their own show called 18 Kids and Counting in America so all the US articles are more detailed. I hope lil Josie will be ok :( I watch the show on YouTube,it's strangely fascinating.

If she gets pregnant on average every 18 months she must have been about 15 when she first fell pregnant by my reckoning. Jesus. Why can't her husband use a condom anyway?

21 I think she was when she had her first child. Religious stuff,they were using the pill and they she had a miscarriage with her 2nd child and they thought God was punishing them for using contreception so they didn't anymore. They seem like a nice family,just really religious!

Religious or not, there has to come a time though to say enough is enough though surely? Have they never thought about abstaining from sex?

I love that show, all the kids are homeschooled and they all play violin and all of their names begin with J
I think they their children are treated very well from the looks of the tv show
