What constitutes a serious debate

Some here seem to think that a serious debate here is just putting up a link to a news item and saying what do you think.

I am not sure that is correct in defining what is a serious debate.

As exhibit A I put forward the definition of what an argument is from this clip.

I get the point of the oP, because there are some ridiculous threads posted under serious debate. But your clip, fails to show what you mean. IN fact, it makes it even worse.

No, I have plenty faith... just not in the things you have faith in. Just because I don't believe, it doesn't mean I'm unable to show love or wisdom, and it doesn't mean I cannot have faith. What it means is that i just don't believe, plain and simple. You know, you make a mockery of your faith pretty much every time we address this twisted subject.

And even if I didn't, you're a Man of Religion... have some faith in the faithless.
