Windows 7

What's it like? I'm hopefully getting a new laptop with Windows 7 for Christmas and I don't know much about it. I've heard it's better than Vista though.

I have Vista and 7 (on two different computers) and there really isn't a lot in it. Aesthetically, 7 is a bit better, I really like the minimalist design, but other than that, not worth it.

Windows 7 was basically created by pricks who sent in there pointless ideas.

The one before it was far better..not sure if it was called Windows 6? But it was better.

If you can, stay away from W7.

Its ugly too, and this retarded bar just hangs about the screen.

Windows 7 is windows vista with all the bugs fixed and more drivers made avalible it is a bit faster and has a diffrent look thats it really.

And I've seen it on my teachers new laptop.. looks smart but she says it is a tad awkward to use.. a bit like a Mac. Brilliant if you know how to work it, but sdtick to the simpler windows if you don't.

Dad just put windows 7 on my comp, apparently it fixes bugs in vista, It looks quite nice, it reminds me of my ipod on the start bar thing, because its all little buttons not those long bars like in vista,

i get a bit lost sometimes because everything is a bit hidden to make it look tidy

Me either, although all i did was go on the internet, itunes and type up college work

I went from xp to vista to xp to 7 and 7 is my favourite of all. The taskbar is fantastic. It's really easy to customize. I love the desktop slideshow feature. It is sometimes difficult to find things but very rarely for me. It is very fast.

People were having major probelms with vista when it first came out and not all CD crivers work for stuff like webcams and phone software ECT.

Thanks everyone for all the comments! :D I'm more optimistic about it now, wasn't too sure at first but sounds really good now. I did like Vista so I'm sure I'll probably like Windows 7 too. Eee can't wait to see what it's like!
