He played on the X Factor. Big ****ing hypocrite.
Just because he played on X Factor doesn't mean he automatically has to prefer their music. :p

lol, that's a surprise!! haha
It's the principle.
If you perform at a show it is assumed they have your support.

I adored Paul when he was a Beatle (yes, I'm THAT old! LOL), but I didn't think he sang too well on the show. Mind you he's older than me!

Maybe it goes to his ex wife.

He goes on the show, and then says he'd prefer Rage to get number 1.

I think she gets £35k a year child support and she only got a one-off settlement of about £20m. But I'm not sure - but still, he's more than minted, and a lot more of the Beatles' discography sales are going to him than before now.

Claudia, he's one of the wealthiest men in the UK and it was a real coup for the X Factor to get him on the show, but he's not a pawn of Simon's and the idea of RATM winning probably tickles him pink. There's no motivation behind it except probably for the fact that he's an artist and enjoys the idea of ruffling a few feathers and changing the pattern of things a bit, just like the Beatles did in their heyday. Nothing duller than Cowell monopolising the airwaves each Xmas.

Well maybe he didn't do it for the money, maybe he wanted to use the show to try and get his music to a younger generation.
But it just seems tacky to appear on the show and then knock it.

But he has not knocked it. He would just prefer if RATM got to number 1.

I guess, but RATM is a protest vote against the xfactor.

He didn't knock the show though; just stated his preference for Xmas number 1, that's all. And as an artist he obviously wants to play to the biggest crowd he can, so he would never turn down the opportunity to play on the Xfactor final, particularly when he's in the middle of a tour.

RATM is the sort of thing John Lennon would do - I reckon that's why Paul's supporting it. Mind you all he said was that he thought the battle was funny.
