Why do you expect the ratings to be so low?

It's not as if they're putting it on at midnight. 8 is a perfectly reasonable time imo.

8pm has never been a great slot for BB

The only way this'll work is if they advertise it as a package, similar to Black Friday for BB5.
It probably would've worked better after the film, though - even if it would be 11PM or whatever.

They'd want higher ratings for Slumdog Millionaire cause it'll be it's first time on TV, I think.

Its not that good, not good enough to move the BB launch to an early time to make way for some stupid bollywood film.
Whats wrong with putting that on at 8 or putting it on at Tea Time or somthing?

Which won't happen as Slumdog is part of Channel 4's India Season.
Putting BB on at 8pm is a bad idea - it might get away with it on a Wednesday ratings-wise, but even then, it'll be censored.
They should have put Slumdog on at 8pm, with BB after that.

By a package you mean how they did the Last ever Friends followed by BB5?
That would work.
Why is this film so important that they cant just put it on another time.
God Slumdog millionaire will have other chances, This is the Last ever Celebrity Big Brother and already there ****ing it up.
Well its up against Traffic Cops, Natural World, FA Cup and some Da Vinci Code thing, so I doubt it will be a real problem. Their main issue will be on Friday 8th when it goes head to head with Dancing on Ice then again on the Sunday.

FA Cup for me then
FA Cup for me then
Same for me, but most of the BB audience are women and gay so doubt they'll really be watching FA Cup tbh

It's not the launch, it's a week into the series.

Well C4 have to do what is best for them, I'd imagine Slumdog Millionaire will get higher in that slot than CBB would

C4 in their naivety still believe BB can give other shows a boost by moving them around the schedules, even though that tactic hasn't really worked for years.
Stupid scheduling though by C4 - not so much of BB, but of Slumdog Millionaire. Why on earth are they putting their biggest movie premiere in years in the middle of the week - should be on a Sunday night.
