Reported on The BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4128180.stm#)

Politicians from both sides of the Commons have paid warm tribute to former Cabinet minister Robin Cook after his death, aged 59.
Mr Cook died after collapsing while hill walking in north-west Scotland.

Prime Minister Tony Blair called his former foreign secretary "an outstanding, extraordinary talent".

Tory leader Michael Howard praised his "immense" contribution to British politics, while Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy said he was "deeply saddened".

Mr Cook, who had two adult sons, was with second wife Gaynor when he was suddenly taken ill near the summit of Ben Stack.

I'm sad to hear of Robin Cook's death. I never agreed with a lot of what he said and don't think he was a very good Foreign Secretary, but he was a very intelligent man who put his principles ahead of his own position in the cabinet, and politics will be a sadder place without him.

I think he is a great loss to politics. Like AndyJK, I didn't always agree with him, but he had principles - sadly lacking in a lot of politicians, and stood up for what he believed. A lot of people think he would have rejoined the cabinet under Gordon Brown - sad that we'll never know.

Whoa, I was really shocked to hear of this- I didn't particularly agree with all he said, but I admired his stance on some principles.

I was really sad to hear about his death too,
I didn't agree with a few of his views, but respected the fact he stuck to his principles.

Really feel for his poor sons!! 59 is such a young age.
