Simple, just PM me or post below with your favourite programmes (ranked) - can be ten, twenty, even a hundred if you're that dedicated - I'll then count them up and whoever gets the most votes wins :)

I almost forget Derren myself. It's a tough one because you remember the man himself usually, not a specific series of anything. And it's his specials that have made him.

I just find him endlessly facinating, no matter how **** the stunt itself is. It's just enjoyable watching the guy.

People forgot about scrubs as well?
I'm so bored of it now it's actually sickening. The Simpsons is still legendary despite eight years or so of terrible writting. Scrubs killed itself in about two years. Each of it's characters are trapped into being funny by certain cliches so it was always going to have a limited lifespan. The Janitor makes abstract comments. Dr. Cox goes into disparging tangents. Ted gets paranoid. Kelso acts the prick. J.D. ****s over his friends and does absoloutely nothing funny and delivers some soppy speech at the end.

No matter how funny it is at first, it gets tiring IMO.

Actually...just to tease you...here's the first ten ;)

50. The Graham Norton Show - 20 points
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/04/The_Graham_Norton_Show.jpg

Also incorporating 'V Graham Norton' and the immensely popular C4 show 'So Graham Norton', the Irish TV presenter hasn't been off our screens in the past decade - catapulting from cult status in 1998 with a naughty bare-all chat show to...a naughty bare-all chat show.

49. Sabrina the Teenage Witch - 23 points
http://orangepop.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/sabrina1.jpg

It started in 1996 and lasted until 2003 - but 7 years was enough to cement it as a Nickelodeon classic. Starring Melissa Joan Hart as the eponymous character, it followed the capers of a teenage witch finding her powers and her crazy family - including fan favourite, talking cat, Salem. The final episode finally saw Sabrina ride off into the distance with her soulmate, Harvey.

48. SM:TV Live / CD UK - 24 points
http://www.tvwhirl.co.uk/images/smtvlast2003.jpg

The cure to many's Saturday morning hangover and the staple in children of the era's TV-viewing diet, SM:TV propelled Ant, Dec and Cat (now Cat Deeley and...Ant and Dec) to fame with a variety of childish games, sketches and live music performances on its neighbour show 'CD UK'. It finished in 2003 after a succession of different presenters including Big Brother's very own Brian Dowling.

47. Without A Trace - 24 points
http://fatbackmedia.com/nsfw/wp-content/uploads/2006/03/withoutatrace.jpg

Running from 2002 until 2009, Without A Trace was a US drama series set around the premise of an FBI Missing Persons' bureau. Averaging around 14m viewers per season, its tense mystery and the dilemmas its characters faced touched upon a number of issues and made for compelling viewing.

46. The Royle Family - 25 points
http://blogs.menmedia.co.uk/old/ianwylie/the%20royle%20family200-thumb.jpg

It officially ended in the year 2000, but 4 christmas specials since then have made sure this comedy continues to be a hit with fans. Written by Caroline Aherne, it followed the mundane lives of the Royles, a family of couch-potatos and argumentative, flatulent 'chavs' - brilliantly acted by UK legends such as Ricky Tomlinson and Liz Smith. It swept comedy awards, winning BAFTAs, and its legacy sees it as a regular in Christmas viewing and Best Sitcom polls.

45. The Hills - 27 points
http://craignj.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/the-hills-logo3.jpg

The 'reality television' program is one of MTV's biggest modern hits - and has made somebodies out of nobodies such as Lauren Conrad, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. They're names you'll have touched upon in your careful adventures with Hugo, but serious lack of talent and likeability aside...it's apparently popular. **** knows why. *shudders*

44. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 27 points
http://www.geekroar.com/leopoldo/archives/buffy_season5_cast-thumb.jpg

It only lasted 3 years into the decade, but Buffy's popularity dominated SkyOne listings and DVD boxset sales for much longer. Set around Sarah Michelle Gellar's central character and her 'Scooby Gang', the supernatural series brought vampires into the 21st century, and it's arguably an impact on modern successes True Blood and Twilight.

43. 24 - 27 points
http://screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/24-season-7.jpg

Jack Bauer has become a household name, perhaps, oddly, more famous than the actor who portrays him. Presented in a novel new way of 24-hour series [each episode lasting an hour of Bauer and co.'s lives], the US action drama continues to be a massive ratings hit.

42. Come Dine With Me - 28 points
http://www.seedlingshowcase.com/cv08/images/courses/comedinewithme.jpg

First broadcast in 2005, the C4 daytime program's premise is a simple one - 4 or 5 randomers from the same town are thrust together and forced to host dinner-parties over the course of a week. However, its popularity lies within the arguments rather than the culinary prowess, and cutting quips from its commentator.

41. QI - 28 points
http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/content/images/2007/01/25/qi_main_396x222.jpg

The panel comedy gameshow began in 2003 and regular host Stephen Fry and panelist Alan Davies have made it a stalwart of British weeknight comedy. Its unique brand of 'general ignorance' and celebrity guests [ranging from regulars David Mitchell and Jimmy Carr to actress Emma Thompson] celebrates 'quite interesting' [what the title stands for] trivia.

40. Little Britain - 29 points
http://partyworlduk.net/shop/images/LittleBritain-Logo.jpg

It spawned an unprecedented amount of popular impersonation of its characters, and its catchphrases became a part of everyday speech. Matt Lucas and David Walliams' sketch show was arguably the most successful of the decade.

39. Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps - 30 points
http://img4.sidereel.com/_icon/2a8a.jpg

Featuring Sheridan Smith and Ralf Little, the sitcom set in Runcorn amongst a friend circle of chavs continues to be BBC Three's biggest show, despite being as funny as finding an aborted baby in your sink basin.

38. Benidorm - 30 points
http://www.webtvwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/benidorm-logo.jpg

I'll be honest - I know very little of this show. I take it's a sitcom set in a chavvy holiday resort in the title location. Featuring Johnny Vegas and a host of cameo stars, Benidorm only began in 2007 but managed to quickly establish itself enough to get on here.

37. Alan Carr: Chatty Man - 30 points
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/86/Chattymanident.jpg/250px-Chattymanident.jpg

The camp comedian has had a pretty successful decade. Launching to fame via The Friday Night Project with Justin Lee Collins and a hugely-popular 'Tooth Fairy' live standup show, he's gone on to present a gameshow and now this. His feminine and outlandish style makes for an interesting interview whoever the participant.

36. Bad Girls - 31 points
http://sharetv.org/images/bad_girls_uk-show.jpg

You've no idea what I've just seen googling that image. The insane UK drama based in a womens' prison saw a whole host of absurd stories and sensationalist nonsense that made for spectacular viewing; including hauntings, murders, steamy relationships and comic relief.

35. The Simpsons - 31 points
http://www.toywebb.net/images/simp-logo.gif

Starting in 1989 on the Tracey Ullman [IIRC] show, the 90s was dominated by the yellow folk. However, its marketability and sheer dominance over US/international comedy continued and still does - now drawing massive names from both showbiz and politic (Tony Blair even featured). The decade also saw a Simpsons Movie, which reinforced the show's appeal.

34. Friday Night With Jonathan Ross - 33 points
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01244/Jonathan_Ross_1244072c.jpg

Starting in 2001, the chat show King has taken over from the giant, Parkinson, as the country's most-watched talk-show. Since then, Ross has drawn in huge names from all fields of showbiz - from Barbra Streisand to Vivienne Westwood, David Bowie to Ricky Gervais - and, joined by house band 4 ***** and a Piano, continues to go from strength to strength (suspension aside).

33. Dancing on Ice - 34 points
http://sharetv.org/images/dancing_on_ice_uk-show.jpg

Perhaps one of the bizarrest brainwaves to emerge from reality television, ITV's answer to Strictly Come Dancing was to shove the celebs on ice and make use of Holly Willoughby's er...talents. It's camp, it's panto but it's successful.

32. Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway - 38 points
http://www.brianmay.com/queen/queennews/newspix/07/Ant-Dec_SaturdayNightTakeaway190.jpg

During the 90s, Saturday night's television viewing was the focal point of scheduling - with hit gameshows such as Blind Date and The Price is Right dominating. This died somewhat in the past decade, but one stellar success was this. With an army of Z-list celebs at their disposal, Ant and Dec's fun antics drew millions upon millions of viewers.

31. The Office - 39 points
http://sharetv.org/images/the_office_uk-show.jpg

With the simple premise of mock-documenting the mundanity of office life, Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais began what was to be a phenomenally successful decade for the pair with this gem of a comedy. Gervais' 'David Brent' is continually hailed as one of the greatest comedy characters of all time - his cringeworthy management style and desperation to be adored illustrating why.

30. Mock the Week - 42 points
http://www.mocktheweek.tv/images/logo.gif

The comedy panel show dealing with current affairs in a satirical swagger is one of BBC2's most-viewed shows and that's in no small part thanks to its regulars Dara O'Briain, Russell Howard and Frankie Boyle. It's often controversial, but its brand of comic satire has proved successful.

29. This Morning - 43 points
http://www.medi-direct.co.uk/images/this_morning.jpg

As the decade started this was still presented by Richard and Judy. Their departure in 2001, however, saw the show fall into the hands of Philip Schofield and Fern Britton (amongst others like Eamonn Holmes). Its popularity unwavered, and has picked up many NTV Awards [one of which was memorable for Judy Finnigan's boob making an impromptu appearance].

28. Heroes - 44 points
http://www.geekshow.us/wp/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/heroes_logo.jpg

Comic book character-films have really returned to form in the past decade, with huge Spiderman, Batman and X-Men movies - so it was a matter of time before the transition into television was complete. For a period in 2006-7, everyone talked about Heroes - whether it was about the cheerleader who couldn't die, the telekinetic serial killer, the cute Japanese time-traveller...

27. The OC - 45 points
http://www.freewebs.com/the_oc_freakz/oc-logo.jpg

Teenage dramas have become a regularity in American viewing - names like Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl continue to be talked about. However this one, starring Mischa Barton and Adam Brody amongst others, ran from '03 to '07 with a series of dramatic storylines.

26. Hollyoaks - 45 points
http://bigsecretpizzaparty.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83452002769e2010536b1fe88970c-800wi

The UK teenage soap has had a lot of flack for its poor acting and concentration on casting 'good-looking' actors, but few can argue with the bravery its displayed in some of its controversial storylines. Dealing with issues varying from bulimia to incest, its audacity makes it a cut above other soaps.

25. The Games - 46 points
can't actually find the logo...

Another interesting take upon the reality TV concept this decade was The Games - which put a selection of TV faces through gruelling athletic challenges. It ran for 4 series between 2003 and 2006 on Channel 4.

24. Glee - 49 points
http://www.watch-glee.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/glee_logo.jpg

It's barely even begun on US TV, and only a pilot's been shown over here - but Glee has already been proven to be the next big thing. The premise is a Glee club [seen in the US as an after-school club for losers] with burgeoning musical talents - its soundtracks continue to perform well in iTunes charts.

23. Doctor Who - 50 points
http://snarkerati.com/movie-news/files/2008/09/doctor_who_logo.jpg

The reinvention of Doctor Who by Russell T. Davies in this decade saw what was formerly a geek kid's guilty pleasure become one of the most-loved family programs of the decade. First revamped with Christopher Ecclestone, it really took off in popularity courtesy of David Tennant - and special effects, dramatic storylines and a number of celebrity appearances/romances have made it arguably BBC's biggest show.

22. Scrubs - 53 points
http://www.nerdles.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/scrubs_300x300.jpg

Set at Sacred Heart hospital, the silly-humour antics of JD and co. makes this one of the most popular comedies of recent times. Running since 2001, it has even drawn cameos from the like of Brendan Fraser, Heather Graham and Colin Farrell.

21. Peep Show - 53 points
http://www.maximumfun.org/images/peepshow.jpg

Set around two friends in their late 20s and their mismatched housesharing situation, Peep Show's DVD sales are perhaps the only reason the show's still being made. It has disappointing ratings but continues to be a cult hit amongst its fans, launching David Mitchell and Robert Webb's careers.

South Park completely showed it up in their two part Cartoon Wars.

http://downcharlestonblvd.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/shameless.jpg

The Gallagher clan have been the dominant family on Channel 4 this decade - proving its most successful and long-lasting drama. It launched the career of James McAvoy and has dealt with story upon story of controversial material - drugs and sex being as common as night and day. SCATTER.

9. Eastenders - 105 points

http://www.stompmanagement.com/stompschool/user_images/eastenders.gif

The highest-placing soap on the countdown, Eastenders' storylines in the noughties have gripped the country by storm. Whether it was Who Shot Phil? or YOU AIN'T MY MUVVA - it's been a talking point for many...if only it wasn't so **** 95% of the time.

8. Gavin and Stacey - 113 points

http://blogs.thestage.co.uk/tvtoday/images/gavin_and_stacey_series_2.jpg

Arguably BBC's most successful comedy in the latter half of the decade, it struck a chord with many on its little observations of Britishness and, more importantly, Welshness. A stellar cast helped some brilliant characters to make a simple, heart-warming comedy, finishing in 2009.

Because the writting has slowly gotten worse every six months since about 2001.

7. The Apprentice - 126 points

http://outsidetheboxuk.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/apprentice.jpg

Starting off in the 'States with a certain Donald Trump, I assume the majority of voters were voting for our very own Sugary brand. For 13 weeks a group of self-obsessed 'businessmen' (see: nutters) are put through humiliating tasks for the prize of a £100k salary at Amstrad. RIP Margaret.

6. FRIENDS - 128 points

http://cultureconnector.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/cast_friends.jpg

More of a 90s show, this still went on until 2004 where the final episode saw a long-overdue get-together of Ross and Rachel [well, I say long-overdue, it must have happened about 5 times?] It goes down as the 4th most-watched finale of all time, with 52.5 million viewers in the US alone.

5. LOST - 136 points

http://neoavatara.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/lost-logo1.jpg

Potentially the most successful American drama of the decade - but not on this countdown. Following the aftermath of a plane crash on a remote island, Lost has continued to confuse watchers since its conception, with something weird about black smoke and polar bears? I don't watch it :p

4. Desperate Housewives - 153 points

http://desperate-housewives.download-tvshows.com/files/desperate_housewives.jpg

So this is your highest-ranked US TV show. Bit of an odd choice I must say. But it continues to be a ratings hit; whether or not those viewers are just knocking one out to Eva Longoria remains to be said.

Like this needs an introduction. Media mogul seeks 3 less successful media moguls to help him pick a mediocre talent out of a line-up of mediocre talents to enjoy some mediocre success.
