View Full Version : My explosive twist idea for CBB7!

I think this could be a really good twist:
The launch night happens like normal, all the celebrities go in. Then there's a laminate on the table which they have to read. It says that the housemates must all be silent for as long as possible... the first person to talk will have all their clothes and luggaged removed AND will face eviction that week!!
But that's not all... no... the best bit is coming up. Once that finishes and everyone starts talkking again, Big Brother stages a fake raid in from some "terrorists". They will actually be actors, but the celebs will think that they're terrorists and the celebs will be forced to do nasty things by the terrorists and will be really scared. Big Brother could also play some siren noises into the house to pretend that there's police outside. The celebs will think that they're in a life or death situation.
Big Brother could also make sure one of the celebrities is in on the secret. So that celebrity could really be persuading the other celebs that it's a real situation and not a hoax. And to make it all seem real, that celeb would be "shot" by the terrorist out of view from the other celebs. Then on the plasma TV they would see his dead body. But in real life, the celeb would just be pretending to be dead by closing his eyes.
Imagine how scared the celebs would be :D!

Or a very good way to get sued and program instantly put off air...
So not only do you wan't to get the show thrown off air before it's time is even up, but you want to precede it with the ultra entertaining prospect of watching housemates sit around and not talk?
Jesus wept.

No it's different. In BB10, it was a task.
But in CBB7 it would be staged like a proper break in from some terrorists and make it seem real! And the celebs would be hostage. Not fake hostage like BB10.
Imagine how great it'd be. An amazing stunt... BB could also hire helicopters to pretend they're police helicopters. It could end up being one of the biggest hoaxes ever and CBB7 would be remembered as a classic.!!

**** in the way that you clearly have not thought this through one bit. The show would be taken off the air. The feed would be cut by regulation authorities the second the task would start, the celebrities would sue, Channel 4 would more than likely go off the air.
And you want that to happen only after we have had hours and hours of celebs sitting around not being able to talk?
Were you the guy behind Big Brother 8?

Yeah because there really going to belive it's not a task,
celebrities would expect people to get them out of there immediatly and they would call the police. so sorry to say i think it's abit stupid :conf:

How exactly would it be taken off air? It's a hoax, it would be fake.
It would not be breaking any Ofcom regulations. The celebrities would have no basis to sue Channel 4.

How would the celebs call the police? They have no telephone and would be taken hostage into the rooms by the terrorists!

It wouldn't matter. It would still be taken off air for offence reasons. And the fact that you are tricking people into believe they are hostages. Believe it or not, people are against that.
And the celebrities can sue. They don't know it's a hoax, do they? They would each get millions for emotional damage. That's only the tip of the iceberg.

No they would expect producers to call the police,
if it carried on there's no way they would belive it was real !

It wouldn't be taken off air. You sound just like one of those Ofcom moaners who complain about anything which is merely offensive. Get a life!
The celebs can't sue. They've agreed to come on the show and experience whatever BB does to them. They've signed the contract. They can't sue on emotional damage.

The producers could pretend they've called the police and like I said before, they could play fake siren sounds to immitate police and have helicopters.
In a real hostage situation like that, the police wouldn't go in straight away. They would have to negotiate with the terrorists.
So they could fake a negotiation deal, like in the movies.
Imagine how great this hoax would be!

Not very great.
How long would it go on for ?.
What would be the point in it ?.
And how long will it take fully grown celebs to realixe its a hoax ?.

The silent thing is not so good. What are we gonna watch then? People sitting around saying nothing?
And the terrorist thing has been done last summer.

What you people don't realise is that there is no live feed, so it doesn't matter about the silence thing.
BB could edit it down in the highlights show so it isn't much. Remember on one of the BBs, all the housemates didn't talk as a boycott. They edited it down, so they could do the same thing in this~!!

Merely offensive? You want the celebrities taken hostage, for real from their point of view, by what appear to be terrorists! The celebrities can sue. You don't know a single thing about this. There is no such contract that exists that they sign that allows Big Brother to do absoloutely anything they want to them. By that logic Big Brother could send in a Hell's Angel to beat the **** out of them and it would be okay 'coz they signed up for it'.
It's a stupid idea. It would get Big Brother taken off the air. Nobody in their right mind would approve it in a creative meeting. Ever. Nevermind the fact that you wan't the first few days of footage to be housemates not talking. By golly, that will drag the viewers in!

^ They'd only be silent for a couple of hours... not days!!
BB11UK
30-12-2009, 03:03 PM
To be honest, I think the idea COULD be entertaining. It is a bit too similar to BB10 but I see how you've tried to make it different.
The thing is, them celebs would sue. No matter what they got paid, or what contract they signed, they would sue. If celebs like Pam Anderson are in there - they have bodyguards all the time, so to have that breach of security would seriously mess them up.
I think even if they did that on the normal BB people wouldn't find it funny. It was funny when I started reading it, but then as I thought about how I'd be if I was in there, I didn't find it funny anymore.
Especially as terrorists have threatened to attack the Big Brother house before, and Davina has had death threats telling her they'll shoot her live on TV.

During Live Feed one night they put a message up and the LF was axed for a whole night.
The producers had to bring the housemates to a roof of another building while the house was being searched.
It was Day 24 if I remember correctly but I could be wrong.

Jesus Christ what is wrong with you?
This is twice now you`ve posted your **** silent House idea and I already told you its ****, but do you really think Millions of people will spend an hour a night watching Z Listers sit around not speaking except for the occasional sneeze?
And that terriost idea was done in the first week of BB10 sort of, only they werent terriost.
I remember that moment were they ran in and the HMs all jumped and ran like **** and Marcus just stood there :joker:
BB had to shout 'THIS IS A TASK' into the house incase the HMs got worried.
But that terriost idea wouldnt work in CBB for 2 reasons.
1. They would know its fake because it was used similar in BB10
2. There celebs they would probley shout 'Oh **** off i`ll get my agent to sort this out'

To make them genuinly believe they were being attacked could potentially cause emotional trauma for all 12 contestants. Instant back firing. Also, the point about the other contestants seeing the shot person dead via the plasma screen? Really? Really? The producers, during a raid of their set, and instead of aiding the person, are just gonna link up to some footage to the other victims? No, just no.
If I remember rightly, didn't they have to alert 'This is a task, this is a task' before they did the raid in BB10 to ensure that the housemates knew they weren't in any danger and weren't gonna go mad with fear?
Edit: Thought so...
BB had to shout 'THIS IS A TASK' into the house incase the HMs got worried.

That has got to be one of the most ridiculous ideas I've ever read. The idea of having housemates silent for hours is just plain daft! Mind you, there's no live feed so we wouldn't know if they'd been silent or not ;).

I actually can't remember them, but at least with those protests the housemates were doing it voluntarily and it was part of a bigger "storyline". The action of being silent could be seen as funny from a viewers perspective, as it was rebellious behavioour against Big Brother.
A task of forcing the housemates to be silent just wouldn't work. It's a poor idea.

in bb10 i think charile had a challenge to stay quiet for 4 hours or he would get automatically nomitnated

Dunno, but I think giving them buzzwords would be good like they can't say certain words. They did it in BB10 I think (some of them couldn't swear for some reason, can't remember why. If they did they were put up for eviction)
Gavin

That was not a bad task because Charlie was a very loud energetic person, so BB gave him a task to do the opposite thing. It showed us whether he had character and determination to do something which he found difficult. It was part of his "storyline".
But having a silence task right at the start of a series would be a huge failure. Viewers want to get to know the housemates at the start of the series. A silence task would prevent that from happening.
