Former footballer Vinnie Jones has reportedly recieved a $1million (£620,000) offer to take part in Celebrity Big Brother.

The Sun claims that Jones, now a movie actor, was given the lucrative offer by bosses in the hope that he’d ‘keep an eye on’ his fellow football star Paul Gascoigne, who they say will also appear.

The news comes after an article in yesterday’s edition of the paper claimed that Jones’ initial offer of £250,000 was upped to £350,000, but the hardman decided to hold out for at least £150,000 more.

He is now set to sign the new deal tonight.

A ‘pal’ of his said: “He’s been offered a massive chunk of cash. He was planning to take January off – but $1million for three weeks’ work was difficult to turn down.

“He is filming again from February so the show fits in perfectly. He’s laughing that he’s the Million Dollar Man.

“It doesn’t even sound like work to Vinnie if it means a chance of three weeks with Gazza. They go way back and still keep in touch.”

It is thought that Jones, whose son Aaron is preparing for a tour of duty in Afghanistan, would donate ‘a percentage’ of his fee to charity Help For Heroes.

Meanwhile, Gascoigne, who has battled drink and drug problems since quitting the sport, has supposedly had a series of consultations with psychologists to ensure he can cope with the pressure of the show.

Celebrity Big Brother begins on Sunday at 9.00pm on Channel 4. Stick with bbspy!

I would be impressed if he donated all the money - not as if he needs it!

A percentage could mean anything.

CBB goes on throughout January, so I don't see why not?
