I was admitted to hospital with pneumonia last Saturday (boxing day) and came out of hospital yesterday. I still feel weak and I constantly want to sleep :(.
I was wondering if any one here has had pneumonia before and how long it took to recover properly?..

Aw thanks to you all :)
And InOne- I'm so sorry about your Gran
I had it in 2007, it was only mild but they never discovered it for about 6 months
Jesus Sophie, get well soon. Morriston I'm assuming you were unless Singleton do it down there.

Just your body's way to get better - lots of sleep!
My son was admitted to hospital on Christmas Eve several years ago when he was 2 - but an intravenous course of antibiotics worked so well - they let him come home on Christmas Day. He went from being really listless pre-admittance to hospital - to running around the ward the next day after treatment.
You are young and healthy - you will be fine!

Thanks! Got mixed feelings - want to qualify of course - but know the first 6 months will be tough. Everyone dreads it!

I know someone
who had it,
and after the Hospital took all the Drugs
and now Fit as ever.
I think the weak bits go after a week or 2
I assume you have a Doctor to keep a eye on you.
So keep taking the meds
follow what the Doctor tells you
and you should be back to normal soon.
They can take time , in some cases.

That's what I keep being told.. but I feel like I've done nothing but sleep the past week! They told be that I can't work for a few weeks which sucks, though I do work in a school and I'd have to be on the go all the time!
Aww bless your son, glad he was fine after! And all the best in qualifying as a nurse :)
edit: Ross, I was in Morriston :P

I'll miss all the student holiday time though! Approx 3 months a year plus lots of study weeks. Used to having all the school holidays off. Losing that will be hard.

3 days a week! That's enough! I guess I will miss it though! Easier than the wards!
