That launch was brilliant, bit of a pointless task at the end but oh well it was just a bit of fun

Absolutely loved the launch! The outside of the house looked amazing and loved the intros, the guys with the fire, everything about it was great!

The task was a total let down though, really thought they would do something really evil.

I agree.

It justs proves that when they pull their fingers out, it can still be great.

If only one of them failed the task then it would have been good :(

You think? I don't think they planned for the whole everyone fitting in the car thing, I think it was meant to be more, and while it was a fantastic launch that looked like a total relaunch, I thought they would have learned from last years gimmicky launch task.

The task is a massive letdown. They had to screw it when it started to get awesome.

Typical Big Brother.

BB should have been really evil and said they failed because Dane's leg was hanging out the window

yeah i agree, good launch. An okay set of 'celebrities'. I'm more optimistic about this series now :)

None-housemates who sleep on the floor etc is slightly different to stuffing 11 celebs into a mini

I agree, I loved it. One of my favorite ever launches, if not my favorite. I much preferred them stepping out from the circular doors instead of getting out of the cars.

I don't think the task was meant to be anything more. I think it was a sort of statement made like oh well, I mean of course they would have planned incase it didnt work, if it was to be.

Loved the launch though, It's a shame BB's going now, cos tongiht was great. Good lineup too.

Everything was going perfect until the task. They must have been expecting the celebs to fail, as it was quite pointless otherwise!

There could have been some bigger names, but apart from that it was very good.

Launch was great! However, the task was a fail, they needed at least one person to fail so something happened to them, imo, those with legs/hands out should have been classed as 'failed'.

I was thinking specifically of the whole permanent marker fiasco on the dentists chair. I don't think something that gimmicky helps during launch night, especially when they have worked so hard at building up this hell mystique.

They definately planned for something more with that task. It ended up looking a little silly when nothing came off the back of it.

Tom

It would have been better if they had a plan B. They obviously thought it wouldn't work, but in the chance it did work they should've told the celebs they have to stay in there for an hour if they want their suitcase. And they should've had to wind the windows up so Dane's leg wasn't hanging out!

The task was a bit pathetic, but i found it funny!

The launch was great though :D

I don't know if I liked the launch
It was different but I don't know if in a good way. At least we've finally got a bit of change though

And that they had to get out and close the boot to pass, cause I think they left it open.

It was great and I loved the car task but a shame they all passed lol.

I agree, Its definatlt the best lauch and IMO the best ever, I prefered the whole coming out of door then a boring car, the outside of the house was fantastic you can tell BB producers have gone all out for this final series.... But thoght the task was bit lame but it's a fantastic lineup

Despite Big Brother stern warning, the huge chunk of time left in the show, and the somewhat sudden cut to Davina?

Best launch show in years, just showing how making small changes can make a huge difference.

Just a shame once it's over we're stuck with the awfully pointless launch night edition of Big Mouth rather than live streaming and the official website doesn't even realise the show has started yet.

I hope though the effort continues beyond the launch show, especially with the highlight shows which seriously need tweaking.

I know a lot on here will probably hate this, but I think the music worked really well tonight. I wouldn't be against the odd bit of incidental music in the highlights shows ... might dramatise it a bit more and make it less real but it could be worth a shot. Works on other similar shows. They also need to stop name checking everyone, that wastes a couple of minutes where we could get an extra scene or so in. They also really need to bring back the "coming up" bit before the ad breaks, something BB10 lacked. I found myself switching over and not switching back in the summer because I had no idea what was on later.

I love the fact that the fundamentalist Christian got Marilyn Manson as an entrance theme.

Music during the highlights is a big no no though.

Music during the highlights is a big no no though.

I don't mean full on songs, I just meant subtle bits (to build tension etc where needed) and as long as they don't overdo it it could work well.

I hope the evictions drop the music though, that didn't really work during Hijack and they've now set the bar for the summer.

I also like how theres no screen this year and its a projection onto the side of the house. I've always preferred the screen there, its more like a window then (I know its not but you can see what I'm getting at?)

I also liked the less serious approach they took this year, the VTs weren't egotistical or pretentious, making them sound like superstars. Davina took the piss really

Stu

I think subtle bits would be worse. It's like those silent nature shows that for some reason have full on Hollywood style dramatic music kick in when the animal gathers speed. Just looks silly and out of place IMO. Keep the highlights pure.

They should definately drop the music for evictions though.

Yes, the music was really well done tonight, especially the swoops across the crowd and the effect used when the door closed.

My initial thought for incidental music in the show was "no", but I think I miss understood as though it would be awful under the regular scenes, it could really help to have music for things like tasks. Indeed the whole editing needs to change with tasks and nominations and where necessary they should edit together a VT to show them rather than stick to showing everything in chronological order.

Also agree the coming up segments should return, but the style needs updating. I'd open the show with a big swoop towards the house and then a "Previously..." segment, and then a flash of fire cutting into "Tonight...", and then ending with the door closing (with the effect from tonight) and then cutting to the titles. (That works brilliantly in my head, probably makes no sense written down!)

Yeah I get what you're trying to say, I think tonight was very theatrical and OTT and I think you're idea just fits that. I hope they stick with the same theme all the way through and don't revert to normal as of tomorrow.

I LOVED IT!

Fair do's, it was brilliant. The entrances, the VTs, the music/sound effects, EVERYTHING! The only thing I didn't like was Davina, but there you go. I also was expecting 12 to enter and therefore was kind of "...is that IT?!", but a very, very good launch!

One good thing is that it is trending on Twitter. 5 CBB topics are in the Top 10 trending topics on Twitter, including the official CBB7 Twitter, and Sisqo's twitter.
