I'm confused and too lazy to check IMDB,
but,
there is no way he has made 50 films?

I can think of 2 or 3 and some television thing where he goes about with US Cops and maybe he appears on a cooking program and I mostly remember him from his Cameo in 'Extras'.

Sisqo made one silly song and is famous all over the USA and UK.
Vinnie MIGHT be recognized by 1 in 20 Americans as 'looking familiar' from a movie or something.

*btw.. I LIKE Vinnie and didn't see the 'boasting incident' yet but wow... calm down there hard man.

Whether or not you think he's a twat is irrelevant in this thread, the fact reminds the only reason he was talking about how many films he'd done was because they asked him so it is not boasting!!

P.S. He's not a Twat lol!!

Im going to agree with the pretty asian girl on this one.. ..even though he is not very well known outside the UK - I have to give him credit for coming from a real place in life (I heard he grew up in tough and poor conditions but maybe thats rumours),
and,
he actually trained and played a sport and did tough it out,
and,
from what I can tell he is genuinely trying to become an actor and putting real effort into it here,
and,
his reality television show was not a joke thing.. he was in real serious and dangerous places AND he never 'acted hard man' and genuinely admired and credited the cops for being braver than he was etc.

So I got to give Vinnie credit where its due - he has done 100 and 1000 times more,
more effort,
hard work,
earned successes,
more earned fame (for right reasons) than pretty much anyone else in there.

Not saying that is boasting rights either but if he was asked then of course he will say.

The fascinating thing about Vinnie being in the BB house is that he is not top dog in terms of career (Baldwin) or the hardest (Reid). That's why he is feeling insecure and feels the need to bring up films and budgets. He is so used to being the alpha male. Can't wait to see how it pans out.

We don't all like meatheads you know!

Why do you end every sentence with an exclamation mark, it makes you seem like you're shouting all the time.

The title is "Vinne shut up". That doesn't mean people that don't like him can just come in here and have a go at him because he answered a simple question which someone asked him, "How many films have you been in?". He gave them a simple answer, "about 50" and there is nothing wrong with that, surely?

Vinnie is a talented sportsman and a good actor who has made the most of a successful career. I really don't see why you're having a go at him because he hasn't stepped out of line in the house either.

As for the "meathead" comment, he's 44. Yes, he used to have an aggressive image in his footballing days but now he is a mature man who doesn't deserved your silly and unneccesary labelling of him.

Firstly, an exclamation mark is to emphasize a point - that's why I use it! Doh. Nothing aggressive about it!!!!

Repeat, this is not your thread - who are you to tell people they can't post in here! This is a debate forum - not a bandwagon for Vinnie fans. I don't like him, I don't like his type! So!

Wombai, I think what Brad was trying to say is the Thread topic suggested that Vinnie was boasting about how many films he'd been in and he should "Shut up" when in fact he was asked by some other HMs how many films he was in and various questions about those films which is why he was talking about them. The topic was not "lets all have a go at Vinnie" and this is CBB we are defending our favorite HM, who, on this occasion has been wronged in this Thread, no "bandwagons" involved!

The exclamation marks just make your posts look silly and childish, but if you want do that, then by all means continue to do that.

I know this isn't my thread, but the point of the thread was to debate the fact that Vinnie should supposedly "shut up" because he said he has been 50 films. We have already come to the conclusion that he shouldn't "shut up" because he had been asked a question, which he gave a simple answer to.

I realise this forum isn't a bandwagon for Vinnie fans, but it isn't a bandwagon for Vinnie haters either. So, I "always" support the alpha males in BB do I? How does that matter in the slightest? I find them entertaining and they normally get a decent amount of airtime (eg. Rex BB9, Coolio CBB6, Marcus BB10 and Vinnie CBB7).

Lastly, I'm not telling you where to post, I was just trying to tell you that posting in here negatively about Vinnie once the original posters' question had already been answered was unneccesary. Oh, and I'm not your "mate".

So stop being so ignorant and listen to the points that me and the other posters in this thread are mentioning.

I know that the housemates I like aren't the ones that everyone likes, that much is obvious and it would be boring if everyone liked the same ones as me anyway. The thing that I think is ignorant is when you ignore the fact that Vinnie was clearly asked a question, to which he gave a simple answer, which was not even slightly boastful, just pure fact.

I listen well to the opinions of every member on this site and I obviously don't agree with them all, so stop trying to make me look like the bad person here, because I'm not. I don't mind people disagreeing with me either, but I think you do.

I thought we discussed this earlier; Vinnie is not a "meathead" and he doesn't deserve such a disrespectful label. Nobody in the house deserves to be labelled like that. You may not like housemates but after only three days in the house, you already call someone who you obviously don't know much about a "meathead".

So, I would appreciate it if you dropped your unneccesarily shouty and aggressive attitude, listened to the points that Chels, Niamh and others have been making in this thread and actually realised that you are the one who is jumping down people's throats for supposedly, "not listening to the opinions of others who don't like him (Vinnie)".

I agree with Chels on this that he was asked the question and he wasnt name dropping as such but just a bit star-struck himself and answering in more of a "I cant believe it myself" tone I would have said. According to imdb he has done 43 movies included in these are voices for animations and bizarrely Gamesmaster?? Although, I cant stand him from his football days (or was that thug days) and dont rate him as a particularly good actor (from what I have seen and beleive me that really isnt much) I have got to say I am suprised at him getting so much work and it is a testament to him that he has worked so much over the last 12 years.

Your opinion was that Vinnie answered the question in a boastful way, which, as we have already discovered is incorrect. He was asked the question, he answered it. Later, he was asked the question, "What is the highest budget film you've been in?" and he said the name of the film (which I cannot remember off the top of my head) and then said how much the budget was. I really don't see any problem with that. People would have complained he was being too "nicey" if he had purposefully tried to avoid boasting by not answering some simple questions.

I'm not on a high horse at all, you just seem to be the one with a lack of grammar skills, and you can't admit it. Obviously I don't know if you're angry but the constant exclamation marks seem to be an aggressive thing. This leads me onto my next point; I have the right to call you a "meathead" if you're calling Vinnie one because you believe that he comes across in an aggressive manor and that's how I believe you come across (of course, I could be wrong here).

Check my last post, in there I said that I understood that people supported different housemates from me and I'm absolutely fine with that, so why don't you get that into your head. What I don't like is when people make statements but then cannot back them up with any evidence, which is what you are persistently doing.

I don't actually "back up" members who are shouty when they are backing Vinnie, because the members on here that like him are sensible (in my opinion) and don't come across as shouty and aggressive. Swearing is not always seen as an aggressive thing, it is just a form of expressing your feelings (not always in an angry way, only when insulting something or someone).

How many times have I already had to tell you; you can post anywhere on this forum, nobody is stopping you but you can't seem to grasp that concept. After every post I have made in this thread, you make a reply, and as you're making that reply, you seem to forget everything in the previous post that you're replying to - for me, that is the most infuriating thing. Also, it's quite obvious I'm not a moderator, so don't bother trying to make me sound as though I can tell you where you can and cannot post because I've already told you many times that I don't care where you post.

How do you know that? I doubt it in the circles he's in, I'm quite sure he's usually not the alpha male as he's usually working with bigger stars than himself!

Your'e doing it again! Who has established that it is incorrect - you and fellow Vinnie fans - that is just opinion, nothing more - what part of that don't you understand.

And you have on many occassions backed up other very shouty, sweary Marcus fans. Don't tell my you haven't - because I know you have. You have also made a lot of shouty, sweary posts in support of him - you are being a total hypocrite! Swearing is not aggressive, but exclamation marks are - what planet are you on - talk about conveniently justifying whatever suits you! Your argument is totally one-sided and your judgement completely clouded by your liking of the alpha male types. Good on you.

Like it or not I will continue with my oh so aggressive exclamation marks - and you can continue with your non-aggressive swearing! :joker:

That is the real issue I think - that I often do present good arguments - that often oppose your opinions - and you don't like it. Or maybe - you simply don't understand them - if so, that is your problem! Anyone who is familiar with my posts knows that - like them or hate them - I can hold up a strong argument - so you are talking nonsense - and we both know it!

How are you a know it all - doh, obvious - saying that I don't support anyone - when I clearly do! More inaccuracies. You really should make more effort to get your facts right - before attacking people whose posts you don't like or agree with!

What is really immature and pathetic - is your attempts to justify your innaccurate comments by attempting to divert the issue on to me and try and accuse me of not being able to argue my case!

Vinnie had a horrible reputation. He was given an opportunity by Guy Ritchie to make a name for himself in Lock, Stock and he excelled. He is now well respected and well lauded in the film world for pulling off the comic tough guy character quiet well. Good on him.

Why do certain people even watch Celebrity Big Brother? Who are you expecting in it, the ******** Pope?

What rubbish. Being big built and having muscles and then using them to quell any trouble is not necessarily about having balls, it could be interpreted as 'throwing his weight around'. That would only really apply when someone less able stands up to any troublemakers.

Vinnie Jones is probably the biggest celeb in there, at least in terms of current success. He is very one dimensional in his acting roles but he plays the part well and keeps getting cast.

We were actually suprised to see Vinnie in there as he is a current celeb, unlike the usual hasbeens and wannabees that CBB normally has. While he isn't exactly a household name in North America, the majority of people would know who is when they saw him as he has been in some huge blockbuster movies. The only other celeb they'd know is Stephen, due to the Baldwin family and him continually being on reality shows.

As to why is he in the house, well didn't really have to do it for the money or fame as he already has both (although it's rumored that hes being paid $1 million). I heard that his son is currently in Afghanistan though and he is very worried about him so he decided to go on CBB to try and take his mind off it.

I am suprised by some of the reactions in this thread, especially as he was asked the questions by the other celebs and answered honestly. I'd have thought that the majority of Brits would support the guy for making it so big when he came from such a humble and troubled past.

My heart bleeds. Stop trying to portray him as some kind of victim who has battled the odds. He was a thug - accused of assault on many occasions. He even ended one guy's career. Bet they don't see him as a legend.

Let's just face it - many seem to admire aggressive, violent behaviour - just as long as it isn't directed at them I suspect.

I never said he was a victim of anything but that he came from a humble and troubled past.

Humble - started off as a bricklayer.
Troubled - violence on and off the football pitch.
Success - made it as a bonafide hollywood movie star.

It's a rags to riches story whether you like him or not.
