This whole alpha male crap we get every bb has become so boring. I bet she knows bugger all about him. Just that he is supposed to be some sort of 'tough guy' - and that in her book is obviously enough to call him a legend. Just increasingly boring to listen to!

Wtf don't you dare judge me if you don't know me!
Infact I do know a lot about Vinnie Jones! Mainly because my dad is a huge fan of his. It's also rubbed off on me so, fck off and stop judging somebody you do not know.

Bullshit. You can't just make assumptions on her behalf like that. Come back to me when you have an argument that isn't based around assumption on another members tastes.
Has something happened in your life that has made you hate these so called 'Alpha Male' characters as you put it? You go through the same predictable motions in every Marcus thread that pops up. People like these type of comic tough guy characters. We find them humorous. We find other housemates humorous too.
There's nothing going on. There's no conspiracy. I really do wonder why you even watch Celebrity Big Brother, between being a misery merchant and hating Z-Listers.

Never suggested anything was 'going on'! You seem to be the conspiracy theorist around here. See it round every corner! The guy has done nothing worthy of being called a legend, or god, it was the same with Marcus. It applied even less to him. It is just so cringeworthy!

Great movies. Simple. As for Marcus - of course he has not done anything of note. The idea behind the summer series, believe it or not, is that they put in nobodies. Again, what on earth are you doing watching a show like Big Brother?
Now what conspiracy theories do I subscribe to?

You seem to have some idea in your head that I think some kind of plot or something is going on - it is not the first time you have said something about a conspiracy. Plot about what?
Simply don't like the waste of space types who contribute bugger all other than play a tough guy - real or make-believe. Not that you would understand, as a guy, but it is particularly frustrating to see girls buying into all that macho crap! On this site - it seems the bigger a creep you are, the more popular you are. Weird! And it is all supposedly in the name of entertainment! But, of course, we don't all find it entertaining.
And I watch it because, thankfully, they are not all like that!

And 'god' is a slight exagerration dont you think? Plus that would mean Vinnie does not exist :p

To be fair, you constantly harp on about people trying to take over the forum or dominate other members, and even once said we were organising flame wars via U2U.

And some of us do find these characters entertaining. Works both ways sister. Some of us think they contribute something. It's not girls 'buying into this macho crap'. I love how just because you don't like something real fans don't exist, they are just 'buying in' to something .

No, it's because your critiques are ****. You insinuated to Chels she only liked him for the muscle and you insinuated to the rest of us we are applauding and supporting a thug. Expect criticizm.
I love how when you do it it's called criticizm, yet when we criticize and question you it's not criticizm at all, it's stirring.
Pathetic.

Things that would make Vinnie a legend:
1) Being a famous footballer, winning the FA Cup and league.
2) Being a movie star and appearing alongside the likes of Brad Pitt, Nick Cage, John Travolta etc.
Name another celeb who has been on CBB with that kind of resume (and not one with an impressive resume from decades ago).
Yes he is supposed to be some sort of 'tough guy' and he has certainly been a thug at times in his life, but you are just as guilty as the people you accuse of liking him without knowing much about him because you paint a picture saying that all he is just a thug. To me he seems to have become quite a decent guy of late, an example being him donating his entire paycheck from Lock Stock to the hospital that saved his wife (and that he continues to be a supporter of). He is also rumored to be donating some of his CBB fee to the Help For Heroes organization. They don't seem like the actions of 'just a heartless thug' to me.

:joker: lol i wish the karma rating was still around cause this deserves one...
but yeah my guess is while some may see vinnie as the "alpha male" its more like you know what you get with him,so he's not pretending to be something he's not..furthermore he's not put a foot wrong in recent months so why would anyone have anything bad to say about him ?
strange really..

Try years. A decade, even. By all accounts he is a decent, down to earth bloke. Your ability to insist he is still a thug for no apparent reason other than the fact that people like a housemate you don't speaks volumes about you.
Go and help an old woman cross the road in Cotton Wool City or something.

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't - one thing is for sure - he isn't a legend!
Matter of opinion. And not one influenced primarily because dumb girls crave muscle, or we love thugs. Which is what you foolishly suggested at the start. Now hopefully you can see why people are taking an issue with this.

he's hardly the paragon of virtue granted, but surely none of us are?he has payed his dues, made his apologies and now works quite successfully at his craft (movies not thuggery lol)
perhaps you just want to rile people up,or perhaps you do have genuine hang ups with vinnie, but surely having a go at chels or whoever happens to rate vinnie is not so smart... perhaps fall back a little? realise that most of us,have grown up watching vinnie and so perhaps a little bias but we consider him a legend.. yes we know, you dont... but surely theres no need to flame chels or stu right?

You clearly don't know either of them very well! When you do - get back to me! Stu is the king of flame - you will find out! Of course, any woman that isn't into the 'macho' types has hang-ups. Nothing to do with good taste of course - and preferring intelligence to muscle.

Actually he hasn't been in a brawl since 2008, so that's 12 months of good behaviour! :D
That was a suspicious one though as he was the one that had a glass smashed in his face and all the charges against him were dropped.
Vinnie does have the tough guy image which means that people will try to provoke him from time to time though. He no doubt has a bit of a fiery temper, so if someone trys to ruffle his feathers he'll ruff them up too. I don't think that he goes out looking for trouble but I guess that we could say that WOMBAI is right in that they'll always be a little bit of a thug in Vinnie whether he wants to be like that or not. I do think that fatherhood and caring for his wife have mellowed him a little bit, although he'll never be a squeeky clean pacifist.
On the flip side he is a devoted husband and father. He also believes in giving something back from his success. He is a strong supporter of several charities (Harefield, Help for Heroes, SPARKS, childrens cancer) and is the president of the Hertfordshire Agricultural Society.
Now I don't profess to be able to read his mind or personally know him (I've only met him once) but from his interviews and talking to him for a couple of minutes he does seem like a pretty regular guy to me.

Is that all - he's 44 - he was brawling at 43. For me - and I'm sure for others - that speaks volumes. And he did over-price himself asking for
1-1.5m which, unless he was planning to give a substantial amount of it to charity, is considerably greedy!
However, having said that, I do respect your open and honest account of him - not a one-sided he can do no wrong view.

Actually, Vinnie doesn't seem anything like Marcus to me.
Marcus was a memorable housemate because he was completely deluded and his delusions made him strangely heroic and awesome (see Mario).
Vinnie is coming across as unexpectedly mature and level-headed.

Thanks, honesty was what I was aiming for. He certainly isn't a saint but he isn't a total sinner either.
In his last brawl I believe that he was probably provoked. The guys that he fought with said that all they said to him was "are you the guy from the X-Men?" and then Vinnie beat them up. The truth is more likely to be that they thought they'd try and take this movie tough guy down a peg or two and were being mouthy, then they smashed a glass in his face so he beat them up. Vinnie was charged with assault and could have faced up to a year in prison but then all of the charges were dropped.
It's a thing that a lot of guys with a tough image probably have to deal with. Back in the 80s there was a wrestler called 'Hacksaw Jim Duggan' who had a tough guy image, I met him when I was a teen and I went and slapped him (hard enough to leave my hand print) to see how tough he actually was. Luckily for me he just gave me a dirty look as he was 3 times my size and probably could have ripped me in half. Other guys may not be so forgiving though and you can't really blame someone if they are provoked like that.
The million dollar paycheck for Vinnie is staggering but the guy is a current movie star so he can command that kind of fee. I think that is what C4 offered him to appear though, not what he asked for. He is also reportedly giving a percentage of the money to charity and I don't doubt that he will because he is very involved with several charities already.
Vinnie is only getting 350,000, apparently.
