He's either a religious freak, or the cocaine abuse has completely addled his brain cells.

He wasn't like that at all on IAC US, don't know what's going on with him! :/

Well first lets be clear:
- There are no 'good Christians'. There is only a good Christ.

Church is a school for sinners and not a sanctuary for saints.
Christians are not perfect - they are just forgiven.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!

Baldwin is a bit nutty and has all sorts of flaws and issues and many he (actually God) is still working on,
but,
as near as I can tell he is aware of this and he knows full well he is a work in progress,
and,
if not for his Christianity I suppose you would REALLY see some horrific madness in this guy.
If he was still alive.
He seems to me the type who would, otherwise, have become 'dead celebrity #234234' after some 'mysterious death' in a hotel room on Sunset Blvd.

I do understand what the OP is getting at and we have also seen bogus 'converts' before (or you really wonder if its some act or to stay away from jail),
but,
in this case - there is no 'good Christians' and I do believe Baldwin does know this and would even admit he screws up, he has issues, he is far from perfected yet.
I hope.

Yeah.. he is a bit nutty. In the past reality shows I wanted to dislike him and be 'suspicious' but he has won me over before. Meaning - I think he is 'sincere' at least.

That's not a good way to think and I have no idea how you could respect that.

No, because i Dont believe in Jesus meself.
So you don't think he should be able to get away with whatever he wants? That contradicts what you just said.

but what he says has a lot of meaning behind it, And he has changed for the better
Yeah, now instead of shoving coke up his nose he would let his daughter get shot in the chest. What a transformation.

What meaning is behind what he says, exactly? None if you ask me. There's no 'meaning' behind any circumstance which involves you willingly letting your daughter get shot.

Look.
He is making a rational and consistent statement. Which is why you don't understand it and why it makes you feel angry (a common reaction when frustrated),
and,
let me try and 'step you through it':

He believes that Christ will not only protect his daughter in this life (and bring joy, peace, etc),
but,
will also give her eternal peace and happiness long after she is passed in this life.
Ok.

So, consistent with his premise he is showing how it would be WORSE if his daughter was to:
Renounce eternal security and joy AND eternal separation from him.
That is worse.

So, he is deliberately giving the example of something he would HATE and wish never happens,
and,

...oh forget it. I have no doubt you are totally confused already.

Just know its consistent and is saying he is totally against his daughter being murdered.
Years from now you might get this.

um, no, not contradicting. i dont believe in it all and Jesus, but if he does, then thats cool :)
and, whatever he believes it up to him,, :) i really like him, And he takes Jesus and all that, that far, then its ok.

Actually I know exactly where he is coming from and I never needed it explained to me. I just don't believe it, find it sick, and find it to be a load of bollocks, sugar.

Yeah, I said this earlier too, I'm willing to bet if he actually was in that situation he would not sacrifice his daughters life rather then let her tell a little white lie, it's very easy to preach about a situation that will never, ever happen!!

You are a dummy for not being able to comprehend how the statements he makes are consistent with what HE believes,
and,
that IS what matters.

You are so dim-witted that you think it changes because 'you don't believe he is correct' lol

But hey, keep projecting hypocrite. If that is the crutch you need then I think Baldwin can take it.

http://www.youtube.com/user/xtravaluemeal#p/u/23/ZYsTlbDLvkg love it!

I don't love it because here is what happened:

Genesis was translated into a childs version as if to be presented to children.
Ok.
Then what happens is that people like you see such a thing and it becomes that way in your mind.
Then you fell away from Church or any Bible study and so it never progressed along with you.
Then when you are 22 and hear 'Genesis' or 'The Bible' your only reference is a childrens story,
and,
a child-like understanding of Genesis.

Now the real problem comes along when you suppose that your understanding simply must be 'what it is'. (you don't know better).
You suppose if YOU think its childish.. and since you are smart... then *therefore* it must be childish.
and,
anyone who does take it seriously must therefore be *childish*.

So you see when you show me a video like that you are showing me what is your problem.
What is childish about your understanding and where you have the arrested development here.
Not me or Baldwin.

That aside - I don't like the idea of presenting Genesis to children as it is a very serious and very adult account.
A rating should say 'This deals with mature content and may be difficult for children'.
I'm not just talking about violence here but just a lot of complex and 'advanced' (not always in good ways) human relationships, jealousy and on and on.
Things adults 'get' or can relate to but children and even teenagers won't really appreciate easily.

Some things yes. Some aspects yes.
but,
no, its not a childrens book.

ElProximo

I was actually considering teasing your immaturity by mock suggesting you should try and 'freak him out' by totally blasting some marylin manson and whoaaa.. he'd be like 'WHAT!!!' and freak out and like make a devil sign at him and he'd be like 'aggghhhh'...

...now I saw you ACTUALLY thought of this and not even as a joke.

Wow.
Just wow.
Im in a room full of idiot-teens wow.

Now in case anyone is wondering:
YES... you will get your wish.
but not even Channel Four is so childish and pathetic to 'freak him out' with devil signs.
*wait.. scratch that.. they DID do that stupid thing on launch with the scare flames and metal*
but,
no, they will now attempt something much more sophisticated and Ch.4 is well clever with their anti-christian schemes so it will be more along the lines of setting him up through editing for the standard 'shown up hypocrite' and also some shame from his past.
(which is easy as he is a former Hollywood celeb).

So yes.. you absolutely will get what you are lusting for - a set-up and total shaming of the Christian.
Which mmmmmm... mmmm.. you want SO BADLY it hurts.

But no.. not your stupid 90s idiot-teen 'freak him out with devil music' crap lol.
Wow.
Just wow at that.
