Do any of you think Vinnie has been much more entertaining this episode, he has become a real character in the house.

He is the alpha male.

Alex could kick his ass in a fight, but Vinnie just dominates him with his character. You see how none of the group challenged him when he said he was going to be the host? ALPHA.

Quite funny. A bit of a bully though, lol.
I actually find his relationship with alex facinating because it reminds of the relationship between one of my dads friends and my sisters boyfriend from when i was younger.
My dads mate was a nutter who had spent most of his life in borstals and prisons and my sisters boyfriend was an amateur boxer and a bodybuilder. They were having a fist fight within hours of being introduced. My dads mate took an instant disliking to him even though he was a very nice guy (like alex comes across). Its just like Vinny is my dads mate and alex is my sisters boyfriend. Weird. Maybe old school tough guys think the new generation are 'fake' or something.

It is the banter you get between footballers with Alex been a sportsman he is probably trying the same problem is fighters aren't a team and Alex has a bit of an ego so don't know how well he will take it, so far so good though.

What's the problem with that? He's the oldest man in there and he understandably doesn't want to be parading down a catwalk in not very much. Anyway, he did a great job as the host, so it all worked out well in the end.

I agree with you there. It could be perceived as passive aggressive bullying. Some of the stuff he was doing was schoolboy humour and just plain antagonistic. Maybe that's why he got into so much aggro in his life which in turn led him to made his stock in trade as an actor in lock stock etc by this reputation.

Kind of a Double edge sword if you like. Saw him in an interview once where he announced he was glassed in a bar fight and almost died. Felt like he picked on the wrong guy at that time with the same sort of behaviour.

I don't think Vinnie has got anything to be jealous of anyone about! He's made more money than all of them, two successful careers underhis belt and still looks damn good for his age.

He just didn't want to make a total fool of himself and knew he would do a damn good job of the MC role!

Alex is a bit meh for me. Hasn't done enough on interest for me to gauge an opinion on him. Still, Vinnie has a house in the hills, movie rolls, plenty of money and a significant other. I can't help but notice that your judgement that he is jelous is largely [as per usual] baseless, off the back of the fact that you simply don't like the guy.

Never made any secret of that fact! But I do sense some jealousy there!

Don't see what the money, possessions thing has to do with anything! As I mentioned in another thread - a lot of that is down to luck and having the right 'look and attitude' for certain roles. I guess it gives such roles a certain authenticity. It certainly isn't down to acting ability!

Yeah, no jealousy there at all. Vinnie is as mentioned above, well established in the cultural celebrity stakes in the UK so no threat from anyone in that respect. I think it is just his personality that is grating and it could add spice to the house as such.

Possibly he just is the type who cannot suffer fools.

I get what you are saying just that sort of put down banter, which can seem nasty or as though you don't like the person, for someone who was in a team sport is just part of getting to know people.

But he is a "proffessional celebrity" now so it may be what people are saying.

The solarium.

I do think its basically because alex is a cage fighter, but Vinnie wants the rest of the house to look at HIM as the tough guy and not alex, so he has it in for him a little bit.

As for Alex's looks. Im a straight guy, but ive gotta say, im really suprised by some of the comments about him being ugly and stuff. He looks llike a very good looking bloke to me...?....If he's ugly, i may aswell go and live in a cave by myself!

put them both in a ring and id put every penny i have on alex.

If they got into a row in a bar for example, it could go either way really, although alex should still really have the edge. Vinnie is no spring chicken. Alex is a younger man in very good shape and is a professional fighter (even though his record doesn't seem to be spectacular).

Pro fighting with rules and street brawling are very different, I doubt Vinnie would be counsulting the rule book. Even I could push him over after he'd been glassed in the face.

Yep he got hammered and glassed and had to be hauled out of the place bleeding. Not a good thing to experience. Vinnie is a footballer used to taunting the opposition and picking on fellas like gazza in a clinch on the field with referees. He is doing the same thing now with big bro as the ref.

Put him in a real street fight then Vinnie despite the hard man attitude, will fall at the first strike. Hard man on the football field but not a street fighter. Alex would take him with one quick punch.

Although I think Stephen would step in between them and knock them both out with his Mike Tyson 2.30 a.m. diner taught uppercut to keep the peace. Stephen is the original streetfighter, keep the faith peace and all that.

I don't see that Vinnie is going to be jealous of Alex. I mean, he may be older, but Vinnie was once Alex's age, and he's filled his life with a lot of living since then. He's smarter, richer, funnier and can easily outwit Alex. Actually, I have houseplants that could outwit Alex.

Vincent has the fame and charisma and position that Alex, and his puppetmaster Katie, so crave. That is why Alex would never stand up against him. When Alex was having a go back at him in the kitchen at the end of the 9pm and calling him a tosser I felt the way he said it was almost like an teenager testing boundaries for the first time with his parent. It will take a woman to knock him off that perch and I think he may have charmed most of them already. Heidi is the only possible to rip him as far as I can see cos she doesnt do boundaries and as she says this is a walk in the park compared to Lesbian prison.

No we are not. Having watched him throughout his "football" (if football is kicking lumps out of anyone within reach) career and seen him develop into such a fine actor (sowing sides back up whist typing) who funnily enough seems to have been type cast as a thug/hardman, there is no arguement that he is anything but a thug. You dont get many upstanding citizens biting other peoples noses as "a prank" do you!
