"Bully" and "Racist" have no meaning on this forum anymore. Just people spouting off who know nothing.

lily.

Racist is another one I hate.

If someone is genuinely being racist, then fair enough, but half the time they're not.

I'm waiting on the posts flooding in saying.. "it's all the vinnie fans who are in here".. lol

From thefreedictionary.com

Is that clear to everyone now ? Stop using this word when someone is having an argument. It's pointless and meaningless.

Bullying is repeated acts over time that involves a real or perceived imbalance of power with the more powerful child or group attacking those who are less powerful. (U.S. Dept. of Justice, Fact Sheet #FS-200127) Bullying can be verbal harassment, physical assault, or other more subtle methods of coercion such as manipulation. Bullying can be defined in many different ways. Although the UK currently has no legal definition of bullying,[2] some US states have laws against it. Bullying is usually done to coerce others by fear or threat.[3] Bullying can be prevented when children are taught social skills to successfully interact with people. This will help them to be productive adults when interacting with bothersome people.[4]

Bullying in school and the workplace is also referred to as peer abuse. Public intellectual Robert W. Fuller has analyzed bullying in the context of rankism.

In colloquial speech, bullying often describes a form of harassment perpetrated by an abuser who possesses more physical and/or social power and dominance than the victim. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a target. The harassment can be verbal, physical and/or emotional. Sometimes bullies will pick on people bigger or smaller than their size. Bullies hurt people verbally and physically. There are many reasons for that. One of them is because the bullies themselves are or have been the victim of bullying[5][6][7] (e.g. a bullying child who is abused at home, or bullying adults who are abused by their colleagues).

Many programs have been started to prevent bullying at schools with promotional speakers. Bullying consists of three types - verbal, physical and emotional.

Norwegian researcher Dan Olweus defines bullying as when a person is "exposed, repeatedly and over time, to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons." He defines negative action as "when a person intentionally inflicts injury or discomfort upon another person, through physical contact, through words or in other ways."[8] See also a reference to the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program at Clemson University: http://www.clemson.edu/olweus/ .

Bullying can occur in any setting where human beings interact with each other. This includes school, church, the workplace, home and neighborhoods. It is even a common push factor in migration. Bullying can exist between social groups, social classes and even between countries (see Jingoism).

I don't see what isn't "full and frank" about Vinnie's history of barely provoked violence towards people weaker than himself. I haven't made up my mind about his relationship with Katia and Alex (neither of whom I'm a fan of), but I agree with some of the comments saying that he is throwing his weight around a bit.

Also the whole thing about him donating to charity. Um... so what? Piers Morgan, a well known bully, is always donating to charities and appearing at events. If you look at the bullyonline website, it states that most of the calls the UK Workplace Bullying Helpline were from people working the voluntary sector. The reasons are pretty simple. Narcissists are attracted to charities because they present them with an opportunity to portray themselves as the wonderful, caring people that they wish they were.

Could be winding him up for all I know. Maybe the lack of drama in the house is amplifying some of the more contentious things Vinnie has said to some people. I'm not gonna say that anything he has done is on the same level as Jade, Grace, Dennis, Rex, etc... yet.

Jade was the bully.
Grace was the Queen bitch but not a bully.
Dennis is just a low piece of ****. I didn't like Mohamed but spitting at someone's face is unbearable.
Rex was taking the piss for the sake of taking the piss and Michael knew how to give it back.

You do understand English right ? By "smaller and weaker" everyone understood it's not about the physical aspect but the psychological one. A skinny midget can be a bully too. Nothing about looks.
Yes, there are people who are smaller and weaker in their mind so bigger and stronger people can take advantage of it. Do you get it ?

I get it - do you! edited You don't seem to understand that Vinnie is the one with the psychological power - in that situation with Alex. He does appear to be abusing it and throwing his weight around a bit. His constant digs at Alex have been uncomfortable at times. Many people have felt it and that is why so many believe it. That is bullying. Deny it all you like. And please don't excuse it as humour - we all know what a whitewash that can be!

edit It is a big subject - not black and white.

Are people this easily intimidated. Someone mentioned the playstation generation.. and I'm starting to think it's true.

Its very true, since the introduction of various Human Rights legislation in the mid to late 80's, the widespread increase in US tv programs and the dramatic increase in the sales of games consoles, Britain has turned into a nation largely consisting of know it all couch potatoes, who have an over inflated value of their own opinion and worth, who instigate litigation seeking compensation at an instant.

No doubt one day, when the obese slackers realise the life they have missed outside of the safety of their bedroom they will seek redress from the manufacturers of said consoles.

So perhaps an amendment to my earlier words, playstation generation should possibly be changed to "playstation compensation generation"

I don't think Vinnie is a bully no way, i think how he's been talking to Alex lately has been a bit nasty but he's also been very kind to him at other times and it is a weird environment we must remember so Vinnie was probably bored. Plus Alex is a big boy he can take it.

I'm not superior to anyone on here, I'm expressing my opinion, that's all. Just like you do so does that make you superior too because you also googled a definition ? Welcome to hypocrite land.
And I'm well informed on the subject because it's been part of my life so I'd recommend you not to think I know nothing about it. I looked for a simple and clear definition so everyone could understand it like crystal water.
And you didn't get it at first otherwise you wouldn't have ran your mouth for nothing, as usual.

As for Vinnie, Alex is a very strong boy and it is not bullying whatsoever. To me, Vinnie is being bitchy and most people (including you) don't seem to make the difference. And that's sad.

I was poking fun at people who have to label people as opposing to simply say "what they do offends my sensibilities". Or "I dont like the way such and such acts, its not nice".

Its much easier to say they are a bully. a slag, etc.

OMG I have just realised I was making a jest, which in itself shouldnt be tolerated should it? Not only that it was poking fun at people, albeit in the vain hope of making them see the way they portray themselves may not be viewed by others as the way they wish to be seen.

Ah, but contender has a certain connotation attached to it and it's highly doubtful that it's lost on you. The word suggests superiority or a defensive posturing on your side, so yeah, it's very interesting.

But I didn't mean it this way so don't into things when we're having a simple conversation. And please stop with the "Remy hides how much he is superior facts in his posts" paranoia.
I guess simple conversation are impossible between the two of us. :joker:

Not when your posts have been loaded with a dismissive and superior tone. The whole thing was laced with such irony. It's a pity that they're all deleted cuz I really wanted to read over them for a giggle.

Of course it had irony, it was full of it but you didn't get it. Anyway, we're non these posts anymore, I wasjust saying something nice to you in one of my previous post but you didn't get it the way I meant it to be, that's all. As long as I have said it, I'm fine. :)

The real irony was always lost on you darling. And anyway, I wouldn't call it nice being associated in some kind contest with you. It wasn't a game to me; just was a fascinating insight into how your mind processes information .

Contender is not the same as challenger though. Contender is like an equal opponent. Challenger would be th one trying to beat the champ.
YOu 2 are relentless BTW.

I was saying something nice about you and to you, do you get that at least ? And if you think our discussion earlier was a contest, well, it was not but whatever.
And you failed to see the irony in pretty much all of my posts, that's why you took everything so seriously and made a big deal out of it. When I said "My ego is about to explode", that was ironic but you took it strictly how it appeared and made something dramatic out of it. And the more you were taking it seriously, the more I was joking and the more I was having fun of you. It was actually very funny to see you digging your hole.
Now what is done is done, you don't like me, I don't like you, fair enough right ?

Oh my God! This is really delusional stuff that you're spouting now. And you're throwing the "My ego is about to explode" out of context here -my response was to do with your entire post and not just that one sentence. Fascinating.

LOL! Reading yall's argument is hilarious. But I think when Remy says irony, he doesnt really mean irony. He means not being serious.

That straight French to English translation does it sometimes.

I told setanta many times to cut it off but he/she/it wouldn't and still goes ahead commenting about me (I seem to fascinate this person for some reason). At least I waves the white flag.

It's so funny to see you taking things way too seriously, I just put a trap and you have fallen into it. I knew you were going to answer this, you're so predictable haha

But I agreed to disagree many times, setanta wouldn't listen. It's not up to me at this point to be honest.

Oh and according to some people out there, you are such a bully Kaz. Like, I've been knowing you for 4 years now and you are terrifying everyone. :joker:

Yes you most definitely are but that's OK. I have a huge ego and you are predictable, I guess it's the moral we have to take out of it.

Anyway, on the topic, I still maintain my opinion: the word Bully is overused for no reason. Nowadays, when you have an argument, you clearly are the bully. People seem to mix debate and argument.
