Matilda only has two songs. These.

[ps. my claim it's the best ever is slight hyperbole on my part]

It's actually a tough topic though. Are we talking song soundtracks here, or original scores too?

Pulp Fiction had a pretty good soundtrack, also Goodfellas

Cameron Crowe films always have great soundtracks.... Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky etc.

Oh, and I don't like the film but Forrest Gump has a lovely soundtrack as far as I can remember.

Watchmen's soundtrack had me continually going weak at the knees... Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower, Simon+Garfunkel's Sounds of Silence, Dylan's Times They Are A-Changin', Nat King Cole's Unforgettable...

also love Apocalypse Now's use of The End, and Good Morning Vietnam's soundtrack...Vietnam films are just good musically, period.

Oh no Shaun, I have a great one for you. The Life Aquatic with that guy playing Bowie songs all in portugese or spanish.

Yep, I seen the aquatic one and loved it, I didn't go to see it in the cinema because my sis said it was the biggest load of crap. But d/ld it anyway and I thought it was really funny.

And I adored the Darjeeling the first time I seen it. Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman are great.

Anderson makes quirky, offbeat little films that are not to everyones taste. I fecking love them. Can't really pick my favourite. Have you seen the Royal Tenenbaums? You'd love it.

Not yet but I love this song from the soundtrack:

<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/J1N8GtDkYfQ&hl=en_GB&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/J1N8GtDkYfQ&hl=en_GB&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>

10,000 maniacs do a version of it and it's one of my faves of theirs. But only Nico's version is on youtube.

I love the line "Please don't confront me with my failures / I had not forgotten them."

I'm not a huge fan of Nico but she's excellent on that track and when she was with the Velvet Underground. I have a 10,000 Maniacs Cd in the rack right next to me lol.
