WWE Studios will be changing its strategy for developing movie projects.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, known Hollywood stars will now be taking lead roles with WWE wrestlers appearing as supporting cast members. Previously, it was the wrestlers that took first billing on the marquee.
In addition, the studio will broaden the genres of its films from action-adventure and horror to comedies, dramas and thrillers.
The production company has also pushed back the release date of its upcoming comedy Knucklehead to the fall.
The new action plan was put in place by WWE Studios executive vice-president Mike Pavone.
