Did you not see the wink at the end of the conversation? He was joking!

Don't get me wrong, I like Stephen. I'd like him to stay but joke or not, alot of people aren't going to like that.

They still owe my family for the bloody tea they dumped in boston harbour ;)

Plus whenever we have invited then to a party in Europe they have turned up late and said they made the night (WW1, WW2, Bosnia)

He meant it, but then realised that he will be hated for the remark, therefore winked to make it look like he was joking. That's what I think anyway.

Regarding the thread title: A 'death wish' shouldn't matter to Stephen, he'll look forward to death, early entry to heaven and all that

you could tell from the tone of his voice and the wink that he was joking

He says stuff for a reaction and the pebble in the river effect and he gets people minds going and winds them up which is then took out on other things other HM's do.

He's a shrewd operator is Stephen and he is simply manipulating people.

He was joking...but it won't make any different cause the no entertainment brigade will ensure that yet another entertaining housemate will be slung from the house, leaving us with the dullest of the dull to continue watching.
