Should people who aren't members be able to view the forum and user profiles?
Simple question :D

Also I think members shouldn't be allowed to make new threads until they have 50 posts!

We get cheeky guests, my thread on the porn star in Germany's BB has like 800 views but only 6 replys, and Basshunters sex tape thread has loads! Dirty beggers.

When you check whos online, may guests are viewing those kind of threads, aha!

I agree because it just slows the forum down! There is news on the main TiBB page anyway so it isn't necessary for them to view the forum.

They should be allowed to view threads but not allowed to view blogs of user profile comments.

Yeah it's better the forum is open for guests to view. It gives the site more publicity and is mostly the reason people join in the first place.

I say we wouldn't get as many new members if this place wasn't viewable by everyone. Also it's handy if you don't have time to log in and just wanna look at today's posts for a second or whatever.

I agree with Harry, they definitely shouldn't be able to view profiles or blogs, but you can set them to private or friends/contacts only anyway btw.

It must slow the forum down at busy times like launch and final nights, I know during BB10 it got crazy for the forum crashing, and on launch night here of this CBB there was a crazy number of people viewing the forum as guests. Make people have to sign up I say!

On days/nights where there'll be a lot of traffic on the site, i.e. evictions, launch, final etc, yes. Other days, no.

I must've browsed here for way over a year before I signed up. So yes, I 'knew' everyone before they even knew me. But still, there should be the option.

Of course they should be able to view the forum.

I dont think they should be able to view everyones profile and pictures unless they sign up.

Yes that sounds fine.

i'm sure there's some benefits in terms of traffic and the publicity/money attached to that [i've no idea how money and the internet works]

Yes, why not?

It just annoys me when I'm forced to sign up. It's not protecting the members, all information you post publicly is.. public.

Yes and no. Yes to an extent but user profiles and blogs should be member only.

Also.. certain parts of the site should be only available to members, possibly (to help with trolls) limiting link and image postage to a certain number of posts as well.

''Also I think members shouldn't be allowed to make new threads until they have 50 posts!''

I disagree. My first post which was a thread was a nice post. But yet again this is 2010 and not back in time.

Yes although certain stuff should stay private for members only. I used to enjoy reading up on stuff here before I finally plucked up the courage to join:).
