That has nothing to do with Ireland vanishing. They just don't pick up when they know it's you.
Joe : Erin is assumed to be a corrpuption of Éire go Brách or Éireann go Brách. A lot of words got corrupted in odd ways when the English were here. Dublin is a lazy English pronounciation of 'Dubh Linn'. Dubh = Black, Linn = Pool.
