Was this a 'test' and all part of the 'plan'? Or does God just like laughing at the misery of humans...

Or is there nothing that watches over the planet...

Human depravity, perversion, materialism & selfishness causes natural disasters. Don't blame God for everything.

What would you like God to be, a cosmic puppet master?

We live with free will in a cause and effect universe.

Much good will come out of this earthquake in the end that may lead to many times more people having good and happy lives than the ones who died.

if you want to ask God about it then get down on your knees and pray.

Theist's say that it was the devil's doing a lot of the time. Others say that it was God punishing sinners, a bit like Noah's Arc.

I personally believe that God is a load of bollocks.

One thing you can be sure of is that the religious will dream up an explanation probably based on riddles and abiguities as usual......

But, if you believe that God created the world, then that means he created natural disasters.

If he didn't want natural disasters to occur, he wouldn't have made them possible, would he?

Ah now Joe, you should know by now that these religionists always somehow have an answer for everything. It's the beauty of having an inconsistent scripture you can take bits from that's longer than all the Harry Potter books put together.

Your comparison of the Bible to Harry Potter books is highly offensive to Christians.

Or is it that you find it easier to insult Christians over Muslims?

Respect should be shown for ALL religions.

Sanctimonious claptrap! Why would a true compassionate 'God' stand by and watch innocents die because of the stupidity of others, if indeed he/she had the power to prevent it? Not much of a God in my opinion! Sounds more like a dictator to me - do things my way - or others will pay the price!

It is blatantly arrogant to insist all religions should be respected simply because it is a religion.

The only respect required is a persons right to have and practice a religion.......As for the content of religious beliefs respect is down to the individual not some dictator insisting on it......

Exactly. Who says I have to respect religion? What if I feel religion doesn't respect my beliefs? Why should I, then, respect it?

Respecting others beliefs by default is a cop out. Godwins law says hi.

Another thing I love about TiBB!

You all understand that God isnt real.
If I ever say this in my school I would be ****ing hung for it.

God is not real, People who worship him and dedicate their lives to him are very sad and I feel sorry for them I told my Granny this already, when God Fans die, they arent going to meet him and stuff, they will either dissapear forever or go to Heaven.

Yes I do belive in Heaven for alot of reasons that prove theres an afterlife, fair enough but theres **** all proof of god.

Well Patrick permit me to challenge you to PROVE there is no God, I think you'll find it's not possible. It's all a matter of faith - you have faith in your point of view and others have faith in theirs. Even agnosticism and atheism are religions.

If he didn't want natural disasters to occur, he wouldn't have made them possible, would he?I'm no experts, but the "argument" is that God just made the earth and left it "to it's own accord".. to be honest, because religion is soo loose and doesn't have any solid facts etc. There will always be a reason for anything, just worded in a way to make it sound philosophical and logical..
