Just because he isn't pop or ballad - that doesn't mean he is bad. He has a great voice. But I prefer him doing his guitar based stuff over the jazz style he had on "Right Now".

He does have a really nice voice, especially in studio recordings. You can tell its not auto-tuned to death too. There's a song called 'Caledonia' on his album and its sung beautifully.

"Caledonia" is one of my faves on the album, along side "Stargazing" - both amazing.

I hated him on XF, but loved his album. Fingerprints is my favourite, but I also love Stargazing, Don't Call This Love and Creative.

He was never going to do well though, the route they sent him down just wasn't mainstream, unfortunately.

Hammer. Nail. Hit. I hate how only pop or ballad singers are considered good winners.

Well tbf, the show does set out to search for a popstar.

I thought it was looking for an act with "the x factor"?

Leon could have been successful in his field of music - had he'd been given the opportunity.

It does, which is why it looks for the X Factor. That could be perceived as a performer, a great dancer, get stage presence, a voice....

That's why talent shows like American Idol have a variety of different winners, because it's about the voice whilst the X Factor is about having the above^ which Leon does not.

Shows like the X Factor are aimed at appealing to a certain group, and that group are unlikely to buy the kind of drivel Leon Jackson released.

Getting back to the original topic.. I really don't rate that video you posted to be honest. I want to like Leon, but he's really not that good.

I love how he is so irrelevant.

True, but only because IMO there was no attempt to make him current. Plus the fact that he came straight after Leona and people were still fapping over her.
