View Full Version : Jonas Jonas has more Bass in his Farts than his Music.

I think Jonas calling himself Basshunter is a joke, have you heard the crap he dishes out? Then he squeezes the cheese and produces some Bass. If you are creating music that makes "Scooter" looks like R&B artist, then you should not call yourself Basshunter. Unofficially Jonas is Crapmaker.

You think all music is enjoyable for everyone individually? Ofcourse not, we all find certain tunes crap and his are crap.
Let's turn your question on it's head, if Jonas was really successful and music really popular, then why is Jonas in the big brother house?
Regardless of liking it or not, his music is cheap. That's a fact. His style of music is incredibly easy to create and requires little artistic talent. His tunes never deviate from the same predictable formula. He is an embarrasment to electronic music and I have yet to meet someone over the age of 18 who likes what he produces.

You are talented, if you are good at what you are doing... and Jonas is good at selling records. What are you good at? Annoying people? Is that your talent?

Wrong. You are not talented just because you can sell records. Crazy Frog sold like crazy. Was that talent? Bob The Builder sold like crazy. Was that talent?
Why are you turning this into something about me? Why are you turning into an immature little brat just because I don't like Basshunter's music? Are my not allowed to hate it?

Jonas' music isn't too bad.
Used to really like it, still like a couple of them now.
Think you have to be in a certain mood, and like obviously chart dance music.

If your goal is to sell records, not to make good music, then indeed you are talented if you sell 4 million records. There are lots of talented musicians, who obviously lack the talent to sell their music.
I don't like Basshunter's music either. I'm just asking you... what's your talent? What are you good at? Anything at all?

Only Basshunter is the musician - not a marketer. Not a record label. He makes the music, the record label are in charge of advertising and promoting it. So you are wrong.
Why are you turning this into something about me? What's that got to do with it? What are your talents?

He knows he makes cheesey crap. He said as much to Dane tonight.
Sad when musicians(using the term lightly) are not proud of their own output. Very sad actually. He seems to be getting financially *****ed too.

There are loads of bands and singers but some are way more popular than others. I look at it like this, there are 4 million people that like crap music. Jonas music may have been hip during 2007 and 2008 but he not kept up with the times has he. His music would have been really appreciated when Aqua was at their peak.
This is something I just realised, Jonas probably thinks his own music is crap. Think about, he really hates his own tunes. His music is immature like he is, "self loathing there me thinks?"
I hope BB gives him some inspiration to come up with something a little more grown up.

Basshunter sold his first three records online on his own and then went straight to Warner Music. Thus he did in fact sell his own music and was good at it.
You claim that his music is "incredibly easy to create and requires little artistic talent". So I just assumed that you had something better to offer us all. After hearing Jonas' crappy music over and over, I was kind of expecting to hear one of your better tunes. Don't be shy!

No... but if you criticise someone for being without talent, you better expect your own talents and expertise to come under scrutiny.

Whilst Jonas calls himself basshunter its has nothing to do with music, its not bass as in the bass tones sounds like ace, its bass as in the fish as in mass.
When he was 11 he was fishing with his mothers mother(thats the way so scandis differentiate grandparents) she was an old sea dog and took him sea fishing, he fell into the sea when she lost her balance while striking at a nibble. He fell into a school of ravenous sea bass who proceeded in a feeding frenzy to attack him consuming an eye, both ears and his two legs. The wounds were fatal.
On being released from hospital it was found he was now deaf as well as brain dead. However he now has a pathological hatred of certain species of fish and has vowed never to rest till all the sea bass and its relatives are extinct.
The fact he wrote and performed music was incidental but is now instrumental in providing him with sufficient money to continue what he now considers is his true vocation Bass Hunting.
That's possibly the best post I have ever read.

Marten stop getting personal to Judas because he dislikes your countryman.
I think most English GoalKeepers are not talented enough to play for England, and I am a Goalie myself. I am not talented enough to play for England but neither are Green, James or Robinson and most people who are English would agree. Same difference to your argument, and this thread is about Jonas but it is unfair to prove your point by comparing his talent to someone who is not a musician. Chicaine, and Paul Van Dyk are world class and puts Bass to shame.
Joe Hart all the away.

Yes, of course I'm biased. I don't like his music at all, but I think he's cool in all his nerdness. I'm glad to see a true nerd enter the celebrity big brother house.
If you serious hate someone in the house, I suggest you go visit a doctor. You know, it's all just a game, not worth hating anyone for.
Who said I hated him for real? Stop getting so anal about terms. I hate his music. I don't genuinly hate the guy.

If you claim that Jonas' music is "incredibly easy to create and requires little artistic talent", doesn't that imply that you know quite a great deal about the music and the making of music? If I want to watch a football match I expect the commentator to know what he's talking about, and if you claim you know more than the commentator you better expect to be scrutinised.

Sorry... but you are the one calling me anal, silly, mong, brat, etc. Do you really expect me to just accept that? I have't said anything that nasty.
You don't need to be a recording artist to say someone's music is cheap and uncreative. Stop makng pointless comparisons.
And as it happens I do know the basic mechanics behind creating his style of tracks. He started out making cheap beats on FL Studio. Four kicks per bar. A clap or something of that nature on every second kick, hi hat's or something of that nature in between each kick, a generic, always same sounding low bassline, and a synth buzzsaw melody thrown over the top.
Always structured in the same pedantic way. Faster kicks before the chorus, so on, so on. Gatecrasher Trance circa 1997 - for kids.
He did not even create the arpeggiated melody on Now Your Gone, it was a preset that came with the software for christ sake.
I don't particularly care if I call you a brat because that's exactly what your acting like because of the simple fact that you can't respect the fact that people think his music sucks dick.

I've said numerous times that I don't like his music at all. It's too simplistic and quite boring. It can be catchy, but still boring. Calling it electronic is just embarrassing. DM is electronic... Basshunter is not.

It's still electronic music though. Electronic is a huge, huge genre that breaks into many other subgenres.

Trance is a pretty big genre of electronic music. All the mainstream tripe is horrible but there is some great stuff under the ground if you dig for it. Lot's of tranceheads are just as embarrased about the likes of Basshunter and Tiesto as you or I.

Crap music or not Now youre gone still managed to stay at number 1 for 5 weeks. No mean feat in this day and age. He has said he has not had any time off in the last 5 years and is booked for the forseeable future. Whether you think his music is cheesy or not he is very successful at what he does and there are many that would like to be in his shoes.
Personally I don't like his music but as a person he has really surprised me. No pretences or boasting and bragging, a language barrier, fighting Tourettes, being dumped and conned by his manager and yet he has still been the most genuine, kind , down to earth person in there.

I think I made what is called a sweeping generalisation , but it seems appropriate from my experience. Even "respected" trance music from somebody like Robert Miles seems to rely on insipid tunes and is awash with all that syrupy reverb. I'm not going to pretend I have a lot of knowledge on the genre, because I've never felt compelled to explore it for these reasons.

I suppose you can listen to music for different reasons; dancing, relaxing, chilling and even shopping. Music can be considered good or bad depending on why you listen to it. I suppose Basshunter's music works alright on a dance floor, but that ought to be it.

Hehe. It's a confusing world, alright.
Believe it or not in some circles Robert Miles is not respected because he is simply good at what many consider a bad thing. That cliched, cheesey, repetetive style of mainstream anthem trance Dutch DJ's started to churn out en mass in the 90's due to it's ease of creation and floor filling abilities.
I usually listen to psytrance. This, for instance, is considered trance ...
